Last night a fine baby boy

We are pleased to state that

extreme pleasure of hauling
us several large loads. If they
begin to crowd us the fact
will be duly chronicled in these

enough to give offence. Our
nature is as mild as a mid-1

Amos L. Keith recently re¬
turned from the Red River
country in Arkansas, where
he owns an extensile farm,
lie says he saw Dr. George
Loughridge out there and that
he is getting along nicely and
doing a large practice.
Monday afternoon while
Paul, the young son of Frank
Henry, was out hunting near
Dalton he shot at some birds
and the charge struck the ten
year old daughter of Air. Ben
Collins and she died from the
effects of the wound in a short
time. It seems from what we
have been able to learn, that
the little girl with other chil
dren were playing see-saw
behind a stack of lumber from
where the boy was and that
he did not see them until after
the discharge of the gun. It
was a most unfortunate acci
dent and all the parties con
nected with it have our sym
pathy. Such affairs should
not fail to impress upon par
ents the great risk they run m
permitting children to handle
fire-arms. A boy has no
earthly use for a gun and a
great many thoughtless men
would do much better with
out them.
