in Spring Place selling large
quantities of groceries to our
merchants,
Dock Owen*, a well known
citizen of this community died
last Friday and was buried at
this place Saturday afternoon.
He had been suffering with
consumption or some other
chronic complaint which baf¬
fled the skill of the phy sicians
several years, and he is no
doubt happier in the other
world. His family and friends
have our genuine sympathy
Sheriff Bill Groves left here
yesterday for Waco, Texas,
to receive Joe Spivey from
the authorities at that place
and bring him back here to
answer to three criniimu
charges in the superior court,
in one of which he forfeited
his bond at the last term
Darby Spive\ eluded the Tex¬
as officials but it is the general
opinion here that he will be
apprehended before long.
Hon. Paul B. Trammell

he and Lee L. Galt spent last
Saturday night at the “Little
Mildred” mines, out in the
