ber of the Dixie Redcoat Band.
He is now employed by Sears,
Roebuck and is located in Cocoa,
Fla.

de Leon Baptist Church.

Spangled Savings Bond Cam
paign, William H. Neal, as
sistant to the Secretary of the
Treasury and National Director
of the U. S. Savings Bond Di
vision, announced In Washing
ton.
“Mr. Mitchell is one of a
select group of prominent bus
iness executives In key cities
around the U.S. who have been
asked by the Treasury Dept,
to head the Payroll Savings
Plan for U.S. Bond sales In
their respective communities,”
Mr. Neal said.
“I accept the appointment with
full recognition of what the
Payroll Savings Plan for the
purchase of Savings Bonds
means to both our country and
its Individual citizens,” Mr.
Mitchell said, “and I look for
ward to the opportunity of work
ing with the business leaders
of our city in developing a
wider opportunity for em
ployees to start savings ac
counts through the payroll de
duction plan.”
Mr. Mitchell’s own company,
Lockheed-Georgia, has had a
payroll deduction plan through
which its employes have been
purchasing bonds for many
years.
In announcing Mitchell’s ap
pointment Neal said,“ThePay
roll Savings Plan for purchase
of Savings Bonds contributes so
much to the economy of the
nation and to the well-being of
millions of Americans.”

Two happy young ladies from
Forest Park High were a
warded SIOO Elgin wristwatches
Monday in connection with a
national “Most Fascinating
Actress” poll conducted by Vi
viane Woodard Cosmetics. Only
10 were awarded in the country
and F.P. is the only city In
this area to receive the awards.
Betty Callaway, 404 Rock Cut
Road, and Marilyn Queen, 118
Ellington Drive, were both in
vited to the new Viviane Wood
ard Salon at the International
Plaza in Hapeville for the
awarding.
In the name of the “most
fascinating actress” (Joan
Crawford was selected In the
poll of thousands of women
nationwide) Viviane Woodard
gave to the National Associa
tion for Mental Health a gift
of SIO,OOO in cosmetics. These
will be used In mental therapy
among women patients.
Zalba Joins Derickson’s

Urges, ‘Protect Your
Against Poisoning’
Polson Prevention Week oc

year the dates are March 14-
20 and its a good time to give
some pointers that will help
protect your family against poi
soning:
Keep all drugs, poisons, and
other household chemicals out
of the reach of children and
away from food.
Lock up all dangerous sub
stances.
Do Not store poisonius or in
flammable substances (keros
ene, gasoline, rat poisons, etc.)
in food or beverage containers.
Read all labels and carefully
follow “Caution” statements.
Do Not eat or serve foods
that smell or look abnormal.
When you throw away drugs
or hazardous materials, be sure
the contents cannot be reach
ed by children or pets.
Use cleaning fluids with ade
quate ventilation only — avoid
breathing vapors.
Protect your skin and eyes
when using Insect poisons, weed
killers, solvents and cleaning
agents. Wash thoroughly when
through and remove contamin
ated clothing.
Do Not take medicine or give
it in the dark.
Do not take medicine from an
unlabeled bottle. Transparent
tape over the label will pro
tect it.
Weed out left-over medi
cines from your medicine chest
regularly and use a prescrip
tion drug only for the patient
for whom the physician order
ed it.
