LIONS TOUGH
ON REDSKINS
The Redskins traveled to Stone
Mountain last Thursday night
and met the ferocious Lions
of Tucker, ylelding a 19-14
decision in a very exciting bat
tle. We had an unusually large
group to go along and root
for our team,
The ’Skins kicked off and it
was taken by the Lions deep
in their own territory. The
Redskin defense was very
strong, with key plays being
made by Wetmore and Willlams,
The Lions did not pick up a
first down and punted, which
was taken by Slagle, who re
turned it to the 22,
Here the Redskins met the
Lions’ defensive team and they
were tough, Slagle gained a
first down. The Lions started

(g-r-r-r-r-r-r)
We've got a ferocious Pussycat on our hands:
The Volkswagen Karmann Ghia.
It's running around with a new, air-cooled en
gine that's producing more power in all four gears.
(In other words, it can now beat an old Karmann
Ghia at a stoplight.)
It has a new top speed of 82 mph.
And new disc brakes up front (the kind you pay
extra for on most other cars).
Os course, being a Volkswagen, there are some
things that haven't changed and never will.
Around 28 miles to a gallon of gas . . . 40,000
miles to a set of tires ... VW parts at VW prices
. .. quick service .. . and a price tag that remains
alow $2250, *
So it's still an economy car.
Only now it growls all the way to the bank,

Three cheers for the plucky
housewives of Denver! Those
doughty souls, tired of being
trampled upon by the chain
stores and the high-rise prices,
decided to take the matter into
their own pretty hands,
They banded together and de

So, one chain operation im

Other chains of the area are

Let us hope this starts achain

BACK BY 'SKINS
In the mist and fog of an 8

Ricky Smith proved he had it
by running 12 yards for the
first TD after several plays,
Packers worked their way

saw real running with blocking
making possible an amazing

skins off guard, James “Go
