Views on Fire Referendum
DEAR EDITOR:
The Clayton County Municipal
Assn, would like to take the
opportunity in stating its views
on the forthcoming proposed
Clayton County Fire District
referendum Oct, 22,
The Association feels they can
better serve the citizens of
Clayton County in the area of
fire protection, police protec=-
tion, public works, etc, without
an increase in taxes, The As

of the population in Clayton
County live in the cities and
have the normal expected ser=

The municipalities must real

citizens of its incorporate li

round the clock, particularly in
the area of fire protection,

mits without seriously nurting
its own citizens,
The Association feels there
are some very important ques
tions that need to be answered
before voting for the proposed
Fire District referendum in the
way of:
1. Will these stations be ade
quately staffed with trained ex
perienced fire fighters?
i 2, In what way will this pro
posed fire district affect your
fire rate in respect to your fire
insurance?
3. At what time can the citi
zens of this proposed fire dis=-
trict expect fire protection.
4. What will the increase in”
taxes provide these proposed
| fire districts, in comparison to
| municipal fire protection?
| 5. How long will the citizens
| be taxed for the proposed fire
| district?
6. How will revenue be pro
vided to maintain these fire
districts?
7. In these proposed fire dis=-
tricts is there an adequate wa
