Anyone who doesn’t believe the
Morrow-Lake City Recreation
Association Is a growing con
cern better take hold of some
thing to brace for a sweeping
tide, for we are on the move!
This Saturday, May 27, the
teams of Little League and
Girls’ Softball will join the
mothers and members of the
Auxiliary for a doughnut sale
throughout Morrow, Lake City
and areas of Forest Park.
Please help us make this a
huge success.
The newsletter reprinted here
will also be distributed to each
house on this day in the hope
that everyone will be Inter
ested to learn of the exact plans
the Association has for the fu
ture, and will want to be a
part of this organization for a
better tomorrow.
Os course the BUNNY GAME
Is still the most highly-antici
pated event of the year so far,
and plans are well under way
for an exciting evening of fun
by all.
The Dynamic V will be on
hand for a “swinging safari’’
from 6:30 until 7:30 before the
game, and then the “Hares and
Hounds” will play ball I This
event will probably bring in the
largest crowd Morrow has
ever seen, and we urge all
members of the Association to
be on hand to help our working
staff. The proceeds from this
game will go to the Building
Fund, so we will all profit
by it greatly In the long run.
REMEMBER THE DATE: FRI
DAY, JUNE 2ND, 7:30, Dynamic
V at 6:30.

OPEN LETTER FROM MORROW-LAKE CITY RECREATION ASSN.
DEAR CITIZEN:
Do you realize recreational facilities In Morrow and Lake City
consist solely of one Little League ball field?
Do you realize there are no concrete future plans for any
additional recreational facilities?
If you have a child, pre-teen or teen, that child is going to
face a bleak future without something to do in the off-hours.
In order to remedy this situation, the Morrow-Lake City
Recreation Assn, has been formed. Our motto: WORK TODAY
PLAY TOMORROW. We mean what we say! We’re willing to
get the ball rolling anyway we can—but we need your support.
We’re not going to ask you for a million dollars...of course, If
you’ve a mind to donate that much, we’re willing to accept. We
d- want your support, whether you join our organization or just
mention us In passing. We can’t do a thing unless you know
we’re available. We will, in the immediate future ring your
doorbell asking you to join the Association. You will receive
a membership card which will entitle you to very little at first.
It will give us some indication, however, of how you feel
about our plans.
Our goal is enough land for three baseball diamonds—two
for Little League and one for Connie Mack. They will also
support girls’ softball plans. Also, a football field for Pop
Warner, four tennis courts, a swimming pool, and possibly a
gymnasium.
Sound far-fetched? Not when you consider there are between
10,000 and 15,000 people in this area and more arriving dally.
Consider this: If each family kicked in a dollar and each
business in the area gave $lO to $25, it wouldn’t take us long
to meet our needs. Membership dues aresl per adult (over 18)
per year.
Forest Park built a recrea
tion complex through the co
operation of their citizens. We
can do the same—ls we want
It badly enough.
Our feelings are that we can’t
go any place except up. This
area Is growing by leaps and
bounds. We’ve got to keep pace
with the growth and give our
youngsters some place to
play.
As we’ve said: WORK TODAY
— PLAY TOMMORROW!
Think about it!
Very sincerely,
