TALMADGE GETS RED AND BLACK PHONE—Not to be outdone
by the recent installation of gold and white telephones on the
campus at Georgia Tech, Herman Talmadge had a telephone in,
red and black, the University of Georgia’s colors, installed in his
downtown office. The former Governor of Georgia is alumni
president of the University. C. M. Eberhart, Atlanta District Man
ager for Southern Bell, made the presentatoin.

A personable University of
Georgia graduate of the School
of Veterinary Medicine, Dr. Don
ald C. Ford, formerly of Decatur,
is operating the area’s first ani
mal hospital, and may be the
only practicing veterinarian in
Clayton County.
Ford's Animal Hospital, on
old Highway 41 diagonally across
the street from Brock’s Drive-In,
has been open seven weeks now,
and business is picking up.
Dr. Ford specializes in the
treatment of small animals on
the reasonable theory that he

children, Elizabeth and Cary,
have returned to their home in
Rockville, Md., after a week’s visit
with Mr. Bowen’s parents, Mr.
and Mrs. J. B. Bowen.
Mr. and Mrs. Guy Reeves spent
a week of their vacation at the
Oceaniac Hotel in Jacksonville
Beach, Fla.
Mr. Max Phillips returned
home last Sunday from a three
months’ stay in Thailand, where
he completed a civil service as
signment.
Cpl. Reese P. Sanders has re
ceived his separation papers from
the U. S. Army and he and Mrs.
Sanders have been spending a
few days with his parents, Mr.
and Mrs. Roy Sanders.
Mrs. Emmett Laney, Mrs. Tom
Cash and Mrs. Herman Elliott
were luncheon guests of their
sister, Mrs. Harry Lee, at her
