Clayton County Views
Clayton County, we might
mention, has been attracting the
attention of the big industrial
‘{tycoons for lo , these many
moons, and the tunes that. are
sung about the industrial sites
are reaching the heights on good
locations for business and many
vocdtions. Clayton County used
to sleep peacefully while her
neighbors took. in all the busi
ness dough, but even sleeping
pills and tight window sills won’t
keep it asleep now. We can toe
| the mark just the same as any
|other country who wants fame,
|and our middle name is Expan
| sion.
, True, expansion may mean
| tearing down your old mansion,
| but those who have already done
|BO, have lots of dough to show
|for it; therefore many join in
|and say “Let’s go for it.” Lots of
|us still have sentiment for the
old home place, and we don’t
| want it to have a new face, nor
| erase the old scars which time
|mars on the wrinkled martyrs
that were starters in the by
gone days. 2

“THE CLOSER WE GET TO TROUBLE,
THE SMALLER IT GROWS .. ...’
In a sense these well-chosen words form what is probably
one of the most sensible phrases ever uttered. Often times
our troubles assume staggering proportions, until, in the light
of closer scrutiny, they become much less frightening.
There are, of course, certain troubles which beset us from
time to time which calm rationalization cannot minimize to
any great extent. However, the vast majority of our troubles
should be considered and treated as merely problems: prob
lems which can be solved in varying degrees by thoughtful
study and application of common sense.
It is difficult, we know, to be abjective and clinically an
alytical when trobuled, but we firmly believe that closer serut
iny of our troubles will, at least, tend to show us the proper
road to travel in an effort to lessen the sting of any mis
fortune which may come our way.

l If God writes opportunity on
one side of an open door He
writes responsibility on the oth
er side. So many people read
the promises of God, forgetting
that they are heirs. :
Martin Luther is reported to
have said that a person needs
to be converted three times.
First, in the head, then in the
heart, and then in the pocket
hook. :
I believe a man can be a
Christian and succeed in busi
ness but I doubt if he can make
as much money. The ecrucial
question is which does he want
most, the money or a clear
Christian conscience?
Regardless of what you are
saying, what you are speaks so
loudly that one can’t hear what
you are saying. /
Remember ladies—all men are
alike! They just look different so
you can tell them apart. Re
rmember it is God’s job to pass
‘judgment——not yours.
