WHAT 4-H MEANS
(Continued From Page 3)
cooking, sewing, child care, can
ning, gardening. They both learn
home beautification and better
health habits. All of these things
have a direct bearing on you.
The things 4-H Club work teach
es these young people will make
them more efficient in farming
or anything else they undertake.
The economy of our Nation de
pends on a balance of economi
cal power between the country
and the city. So we must have
trained men and women on our
farms. We believe that 4-H Club
work is the first step on the
ladder in teaching our young
future farm people to be success-
There is no other club or or
ganization that gives its young
people a better opportunity to
improve themselves and make
the best better. It builds char
acter and makes better citizens
Should you have an opportunity
to visit a 4-H Club meeting or
camp, please do so. You will have
a view of these young people
and their projects at first hand.
A more industrious representa
tion of the Nation’s youth can
not be found. It is no exaggera
tion to say that America leans
heavily on her rural population
to maintain strong fundamental
rights of all free men.
My club has taught me that
the thing I do depends not on
what I do but how I do it. It
teaches us that a high standard
of quality is necessary but that
we also must have a good sense
of values.
We will all grow through our
4-H Club work-in wisdom, in
stature and in grace. For truly
the 4-H Club is of the head,
health, heart and hands. The
more you give of yourself to your
club the more you receive in re
turn.
I enjoy learning by doing. I am
