CALL TO ORDER — The meeting was
called to order by Mayor J. K. Currie,
with the following Councilmen present:
W. H. Fleming, E. L. Fostef, L. E. Helms,
and H. J. Humphries.
CHANGE IN MINUTES—The minutes of
the meeting of June 4. 1956. regarding
building lines was amended to add the
following sentence: “No commercial build
ing shall be built closer than 35 feet from
the street said building fronts,” so that
said motion, when amended, will read as
follows: “Motion was made by W. H.
Fleming, seconded, and carried unan
imously, that building lines be established
as follows: No residential building shall
be built closer than 35 feet from the front
street of the property, no closer than 20
feet from any side street, and no closer
than 8 feet from any property line. No
commercial building shall be built closer
than 35 feet from the street said building

age problems on Pine Valley Drive and
Spring Valley Drive at the houses he con
structed on these two streets.

BUILDING PERMIT FOR SHOPPING
CENTER—A petition of residents on Kin
ley Drive was filed with the Clerk, stating
that the proposed shopping center on
Main Street would be built all the way
through to Finley Drive, and therefore
residential property would be used for
business property without rezoning, and
that the property owners would suffer
Hom loss of value •of their property as
residential. After a lull discussion oi the
subject, the Mayor asked that the property
owners and the developers have a meeting
to try to work out their differences.
RECORDER AND ATTORNEY -Motion
was made by W. H. Fleming, seconded,
and unanimously carried, that Rex T.
Reeves be employed as City Recorder and
T. F. Nicholson be employed as City At
torney. The Mayor is to contact the two
attorneys to see whether this will be
satisfactory with them.
PLUMBING. ELECTRICAL HEATING
CODES- Motion was made by L. E. Helms,
seconded, and unanimously carried, that
the printed forms of the Plumbing, Elec
trical and Heating and Ventilating codes
be adopted, with the following cnanges:
In the Plumbing Code. Section 6.
“Plumbing Advisory Board." add a sen
tence at the end of said section to read
“and two shall be journeymen plumbers.”
In the Plumbing Code, Section 13,
change both dates in link section to reau
"1950“ instead of “1956."
RIGHT-OF-WAY 54 HWY. The com
mittee appointed to meet with S. T.
Cathy on the right-of-way lor widening
Highway 54 reported that we could do
the following to obtain the right-of-way
needed.

rear of Cathy's lot and erect a steel fence
on top; fill in and pave entire lot lor
parking; pave walk-way around building;
and pay the sum of $2,500.00 in cash; or

carried, that section 7 tai of the Heating,
Air Conditioning and Ventilating Code pe
deleted, and that the present Plumbing
Advisory Board oe named temporarily as
the Heating and Air Conditioning Board.
DEPARTMENT OF INSPECTIONS—Mo
tion was made by L. Helms, seconded
and unanimously carried, that a Depart
ment of Inspections be set up for the
City of Forest Park, out of which all the
inspectors of the City will work.
DRAINAGE WORK ON BURKS ROAD—
Motion was made Dy W. H. Fleming, sec

bid of Jack Ferreli for work on Burks
Road to correct drainage problems be ac

ADDITIONS TO SEWER SYSTEM—Upon
motion of E. L. Foster, seconded, and

Approximately 260 ft. 8" sewer on the
property bf L. N. Butler to catch the new
shopping center which fronts Highway 54;
Installation of a sewer on the rear of the
Wells properties along Courtney Drive,
which will serve about five houses.

ried. the case made against J. Erskine

ordinance was dropped, provided he pur

TRASH-BURNING ORDINANCE — Upon
motion of H. J. Humphries, seconded, and
unanimously carried, the ordinance cov
ering burning of automobiles, large piles
of rubbish, etc. was. adopted.
ELECTRICAL CODE—Upon motion of E.
L. Foster, seconded, and unanimously car
ried. Section 52 of the Electrical Code was
amended by deleting the fees for “Ceiling
Fans" and "Residence Fixtures.”

motion of E. L. Foster,. seconded, and
unanimously carried, the fees to be paid
the electrical Inspector were lowered from
75% of the electrical permit fees to
50%.
SEWERAGE ORDINANCE—Upon motion
of L. E. Helms, seconded, and unanimous
ly carried, the Sewerage Ordinance was
adopted, with the exception of the sched
ule of fees to be charged monthly, as pro
vided for in Secs. 9 and 10 of the ordi
nance.
ADJOURNMENT—Upon motion of E. L.

CALL TO ORDER — Th? meeting was
called to order by Mayor J. K. Currie,
with the following Councilmen present: j.
C. Collins. O. E. Hoynes, L. E. Helms,
and H. j. Humpnncs.
SUBDIVISION—Upon motion of H. J.
Humphries, seconded, and unanimously
carried, the subdivision plat of J. L.
Christian on Dennis Drive and Catherine
Street (consisting of eight lots) was ac
cepted as a subdivision for building.
SEWER TAP-INS-Upon motion of H.
J. Humphries, seconded and carried, the
sewer tap-in fees were set to be paid as
follows: cash, or $15.00 when the permit
is issued and $15.00 at the end of 30 days
and at the end of 60 davs. The motion
carried on the following vote: voting for
J. C. Collins, H. J. Humphries and O. E.
Haynes; not voting, L. E. Helms.
