end, their daughter and son-in
law, the Douglas Brodericks and
Susan. Susan just loves visiting
grandparents—don’t know who

Mr. and Mrs. J. M. Nunn of
Phillips Drive spent Easter witli

her home in Maysville, Ga. And
had a wonderful time.

The Lovejoy Baptist Church
began a series of evangelistic
services on Easter Sunday, which
is being held each evening at
7:45, the meetings will continue
thru Saturday night. The Rev.
Thomas Gilstrap, pastor of Mt.
Zion Baptist Church is the guest
preacher for the week. The pas
tor Rev. Leonard Quick and
members of Lovejoy Baptist
Church join together in extend
ing a warm and sincere invita
tion to the public to be present
each evening during the week.
Mr. Grady Smith and Mr. Keel
er English accompanied Mr.
Hugh Smith to Memphis, Tenn.
Thursday where he entered the
veterans hospital for further
treatment. We wish him a sin-

Mr. and Mrs. Charles Elliott of

parents of a baby boy. Born on

Hospital. Baby has been named
Charles Stanley and has two
sisters, Cheryl and Donna.
Mr. and Mrs. W. V. Presley Jr.
are proud to announce the birth
of a son, born April 10 at Geor
gia Baptist hospital. Baby has
been given the name Wilson Lee,
weighed 7 lb. 9 ozs. and is a
brother for 4 year old Janice.
This happy family lives at 166
Asp Street.
Mr. and Mrs. W. D. Vinson of
Spring Valley Road, have a baby
girl. Deborah Leigh was born on
April 11 at Crawford Long Hos
pital and weighed 6 lb. 1 oz. She
has two brothers David i 9) and
Billy (5).
Mr. and Mrs. Earl Thomas of
156 Persley Drive, College Park,
are feeling on top of the world.
They have a baby girl, born on
April 18th at Crawford Long
Hospital. Cathy Gail weighed 7'/ 2
lbs. and is the long wished for
sister for Stanly and Stacy.
Mrs. W. E. King of Finley Drive
is having a grand vacation down
in Florida. She is spending the
week with her mother. Mrs. F. A.
Havaman in Tampa, and will also
visit Davis Island to see other
members of her family. She
started her trip on Good Friday
and is expected home this week
end.

DRESS REVIEW
On Tuesday, April 16, Forest
Park Home Demonstration Chap
ter was host to tne District Dress
Review. Held at the Fellowship
Hall of Jones Memorial First
Methodist Church, with some 35
members present, the ladies
modeled dresses and suits they
had made themselves, and a very
good display resulted. A pleasing
I feature was the Junior Models,
| daughters and grand-daughters
'who proudly displayed mother’s
and grandma's handiwork. Mrs.
Edmonds, County Chairman of
Clothing was in charge of this
I review.
! Another phase of this meeting
, was a Flower Show. Because the
; acting judge was unable to be
present votes were taken on the
| most pleasing arrangements and
the winners were Mrs. P. Shakel
' ford, Mrs. Glen Nunnally, and
Mrs. Turner, Riverdale in that
order.
On Thursday the regular meet
। ing was held, with President, Mrs.

votional by Mrs. P. Shakelford,
a program by Mrs. David Evans
followed. She is chairman of
landscaping and her talk was of

copper work.

wore guests of Mr. and Mrs. Gene
Fields in Hapeville Sunday.
Mrs. Sallie Leveritt passed
away Monday at the home of her
son Mr. Bob Turner. Our sym
pathy is extended the family.

GARDEN CLUB
TAKES COURSE
Monday, April 15th, was the
last day of a four-week course
on Flower Arrangements that
the May Davis Club has been
enjoying. Flower Show Judge
Mrs. Jan Welbprn of Tucker has
been instructor, and the course
was voted as of real help and
inspiration to those taking part.
The May Davis Club was happy
to have ladies from the Garden
Section Woman’s Club taking
this course with them. The
workshops have been held on the
very commodious porch at the
home of Mrs. E. W. Starr on
Lake Mirror Road. In apprecia
tion of this kindness, the class
presented Mrs. Starr with a gift
at the last meeting.
On Tuesday, April 16th, the
Garden Club held its regular
meeting at the home of Mrs. G.
M. Kilpatrick on Forest Avenue,
with 18 members present. Th«
coming flow’er show was dis
cussed as was the sale of plants,
to take place on Friday, April
26, at the Kiwanis stand. A pic
nic at Starr’s farm in Jasper
County on May 4th was also
discussed and plans made for a
very happy day, roaming
through the country to find va
rious plant life and to enjoy the
“great outdoors,” with husbands
and families included. Mrs. Roy
Grayson was co-hostess with
Mrs. Kilpatrick, and the ladies
served delicious refreshments.
