Mr. and Mrs. L. H. Turner of
Davis Road gave a dinner on
Saturday, April 13, when their
guest of honor was Mr. David
Terrell. This was byway of a
farewell for David, who has gone
to Fort Jackson to commence
his service with the Forces.
David has just completed two
years’ study at West Georgia
College at Carrollton. He grad
uated from North Clayton High
with a fine record, having been
a leader in most of the activities
there, taking a prominent part
in athletics and football.
All those cars at the home of
Mrs. B. F. Hudson of 157 Elmo
Street the other day, meant a
lot of fun was going on there.
Mrs. Hudson was holding a
“Modern Method” party with
some 20 present, to inspect the
wonderful wares, play games and
enjoy the delicious refreshments
she served. And if you, too,
would like a party, get in touch
with Mrs. Hudson, who is a staff
dealer for “Modern Methods.”
Mrs. Frank Davidson of La-
Grange is spending an extended
holiday with her daughter and
son-in-law, Police Lt. and Mrs.
W. E. Daniel of W. Bell Street.
Mr. Daniel is in California at
the moment on a business trip
which is likely to keep him from
home for two weeks, so Mrs.
Davidson’s visit is very oppor
tune. Such grand company for
her daughter.
Mrs. J. E. Wright and daugh
ter, Madolyn, of Elmo Street are
still thrilling over the musical
treat they experienced last week,
when they attended Tabernacle
Church in Atlanta. The Setson
University Glee Club of Deland,
Florida gave a fine concert of
sacred Easter music, and thrilled
not only our friends the Wright
ladies, but all who heard them.
Pt/Fc Marvin H. Patrick is
home with his wife on E. Gains
Avenue for a seven-day furlough.
His parents, the M. L. Patricks,
live at 109 Central Avenue, and
the whole family is making the
most of this time since when he
returns to base in Virginia, he
expects to leave immediately for
Japan. Good luck, Marvin.
The Happy Sewing Club had a
meeting on Tuesday, April 16th,
at the home of Mrs. Herron on
Princeton Avenue. Eight mem
bers enjoyed a most fitting de
votional by Mrs. Yancey, after
which they were busy with their
individual sewing. The hostess
served a charming meal, which
was thoroughly appreciated.
Mrs. C. E. Garrison and son
have been to visit relatives in
Marietta. They spent some time
with Mr. and Mrs. Earl Tolbert
and Mr. and Mrs. Leach, and
enjoyed the get-together so
much.
From London Bridge, Virginia,
where he is stationed with the
Naval Air Force, on a visit to
his family, comes Frank E. Ful
lertoix and his wife and three
month-old baby, Frank, Jr. His
mother, lately of Jonesboro and
now living at 116 Elliott Street,
and sisters and brothers who
are scattered in Jonesboro, North
Clayton, and Hapeville, are doing
their best to spoil Junior—they
are all so happy to have this
happy little family with them.
Heard about the fun at the
ice skating the other night? The
rink was rented for the young
people by the Adventist Church,
and Mary Bowen carried the
N. Clayton teensters. Parents
and teachers going along to su
pervise came in for a share of
the fun. too. Amongst those who
showed evidence next day, were
Donna and Marrion White,
Teena Sweeney, Linda and Judy

Miss Dona Wheeler was the
guest, and the two girls attended

Mr. A. S. Cooper of S. Main

a complete recovery—he has

Six-year-old Lamar Crawley

Lamar has a kidney infection

soon.”
So many of the teenagers here
are visiting with each other to
“spend-a-night” it’s becoming
difficult to keep up with them.

St. Andrews Methodist Church
had a lot of fun at the Easter
Egg Hunt on the church grounds
on Easter Saturday afternoon
They had so much fun—and
found lots of eggs.
Little Miss Hart (7-year-old
Joyce) wasn’t going to be out
done by all these teenagers who
have friends to “spend-a-night"
parties. So she invited a “spend
a-day” guest—her special school
pal, Carol Crane, also 7.
Did you hear about the egg
hunt that went on last Sunday
afternoon at the ,home of the W
J. White, Jr. family? Grandma
Harben was really the ring
leader. She supplied the eggs,
Dona and Marion colored them
and the small fry, aided and
abetted by cousins, hunted— and
found them. There’s a lot of,
lovely hiding places around the
White yard, but Tony and Tim
