FAMOUS WILSON
(Continued From Page 1)
Wilson Hitch won 24 times. That
is more times than all the other
hitches have won that compe
| tition. The last five years prior
to 1959 they were -consistent |
winners, winning the Interna
|tional Six Horse Hitch competi
tion five consecutive times, a’
record no other hitch has
achieved. Because of these great
achievements the Wilson Clydes
dales have become in great de
mand throughout the country
for appearances such as they are
making here. .
. In 1959 these requests were SO
great “in different parts of the
country that they were unable
to compete at the ’59 Interna-‘
‘tlonal. This famous Hitch pulls
a wagon which weighs 4,400|
pounds when empty. It is one |
of the original wagons used to |
deliver meat from the Chicago‘
Stock Yards over sixty years |
| ago. |
At that time each of these|
wagons and hitches often car
ried as much as 12,000 pounds of
meat product into the Loop area.
The Wilson Hitch has travcledl
across the country many times
since its inception in 1917, and
ialso has been exhibited in Eng
