TAX NOTICE
April 1. i 960 is the deadline for filing
your City of Forest Park taxes.
Anyone owning a house, lot, acreage,
automobile, motor, boat, trailer, truck,
motorcycle or other vehicles is required
to make a City tax return.
A 10% penalty will be added for mak
ing returns after April Ist.
In order to avoid a property owner
from being detained, it is advisable for
you to make your returns early.
The tax office is open each day from
8:00 A.M. until 5:00 P.M. and from 8:00
A.M. until 12 noon each Saturday. There
will always be someone in the Tax of
fice to assist you in any way to help
you make the proper returns. 3-30

A. THRIFT, and JOHN SEGNER, re
spectfully shows:
1. Petitioners desire for themselves,
their associates, and successors, to be in
corporated under the name and style of
THE OPTIMIST CLUB OF JONESBORO,
GEORGIA, INC.
2. That said corporation is formed for
social, civic and charitable purposes and
not for pecuniary gain or profit to itself
or its membeis. No member of said cor
poration shall at any time have any
vested right or interest of any kind or
character, in or to any of the property or
assets which said corporation now has. or
may hereafter acquire. There shall be no
capital stock.
3. The purpose for which said corpora
tion is formed shall be:
a. To render constructive civic services
for the promotion of the general welfare
of the boys of Clayton County, Georgia.
b. To inculcate civic consciousness by
means of active participation in con
structive projects which will improve the
community, state and nation.
4. For the purposes of carrying out the
objectives of said corporation, they shall
have the right and power to acquire real
and personal property of every kind and
description, and to own. hold, buy, sell,
rent, lease, convey, exchange or other
wise manage said property; to receive do
nations, solicit funds; to participate in
fund raising projects of various types
kinds, for the exclusive benefit and use
of said corporation; and to have all the
rights and powers conferred on similar
corporations by the Code of the State of
Georgia, and such powers as may here
after be given by law.
5. Petitioners further desire that by
laws of the corporation shall be adopted
by the members, and such by-laws shall
provide for the officers of the corpora
tion. the manner of their selection and
such other rules appropriate to by-laws
which have as their purpose the control
and management of the corporation, in
cluding provisions whereby the by-laws
may be amended.
6. The principal office of the corpora
tion will be located in Clayton County,
Georgia.
7. The time for which the corporation
is to have corporate existence is 35 years,
with the privilege of renewal of the
charter, from time to time, upon the ex
piration of sard periods of thirty-five (35)
years.
8. The name and Post Office address

Notice is hereby given to the general
public that there will be a hearing held
in the Clayton County Commissioners
office, in the County Courthouse, in
Jonesboro, Georgia, on the 17th day of
March, 1960, at 2 o’clock p.m. so that all '
persons may have the opportunity of '
being heard on the re-location of Bar- '
nett Road located in Land Lots 53, 52, ’
77 and 76 of the 13th District of Clayton '
County, Georgia.

ers to re-locate this road to a point just ’

Stock with a par value of One Hun

issue additional stock until the total out

or endorse the contracts or obligation. l ;

partnership or corporation, without re
gard to whether the corporation has any
interest in the contract ox* obligation so
guaranteed, endorsed, ox - upon which it
becomes surety; and in general to do any
and all of the things herein set forth to
the same extent as natural persons
might or could do and in any part of
the world, as principals, agents, trustees,
partners, ox otherwise, within and with
out the State of Georgia; and to per
form any and all acts connected with
the above ox* arising therefrom ox* inci
dental thereto, and all acts propex* or
necessary fox - the purpose of the busi
ness, or conducive to its best interest.

The maximum number of shades of
stock shall be One Hundred Thousand
<IOO,OOOI. all of which shall be common
stock with a par value of One Dollar
($1.00) pex* share.
5.
The amount of capital with which the
corporation shall begin doing business
shall be Five Thousand Dollars ($5.0001.
The corporation shall be authorized,
upon tx majority vote of the holders of
the outstanding stock, to issue additional
shares up to the maximum number of
shared authorized, and upon a vote to
issue additional stock, the stockholders
may also eliminate their preemptive
rights to such additional issue or- issues.

Said corporation shall have existence
fo.r a period of thirty-five (35) years,
with the right of revival and renewal
from time to time as now or hereafter
provided by law.

The principal office of the corporation
shall be in Clayton County. Georgia,
with the privilege of establishing othex
offices and places of business within or
without the State of Georgia.

The corporation shall have all the
rights, powers, privileges and immunities
which may be conferred upon like cor
porations by the laws of the State of
Georgia, including, but not limited to
all of the rights, powex* and immunities
set out in the Corporation Act of 1938.
as codified in Sections 22-1827 and
22-1828 of the Georgia Code Annotated,
as arpended. as fully, and to the same
extent as if the same were herein set
out in full.

Petitioners exhibit herewith a Cer
tificate of the Secretary of State of
i Georgia, as required by Section 22-1803
■ of the Georgia Code Annotated.
WHEREFORE. Petitioners pray that
they be incorporated and that a charter
be granted to them under the name and
style aforesaid, with the rights, powers,
privileges and immunities above set out.
