| Lions Barbeciie at Morrow
I Is Scheduled July 4th |
The Morrow Lions Club will have a barbecue on the :
, Fourth of July at the Morrow Fire Station. The proceeds S
will go to the remodeling of the old Community House and
(improving the grounds and looking forward to recreational
center for the children of Morrow Community and surround
ing territory. This building can be used for club meetings &
and other nice and honorable things. This is not a project s
of the Morrow Lions Club only but a project for all Morrow
I people. The Lions Club is only backing it up and hoping to t
I raise enough money to beautify the place so that all Morrow
will be proud of it. In a few days we will be selling tickets 8
at your door so please buy them and don’t say no to such a
worthy project, next to your churches of Morrow, which I
should take care of your spiritual needs, the Lions Club |
comes next as it was founded for but one aim and that was |
g to doctor and care for the most precious thing that God s
ever gave to mortal man and that is his eye sight. What a |
g good thing to have and what an awful thing to loose. So |
| come on Morrow and buy those tickets or if you miss our g
| Lions when they call just come to the fire station on the *
(fourth and get them then. This is your project we Lions are *
just backing it up.
Tickets are $1.25 for adults and SI.OO for children.

to us in the past and don’t let us down this time, we need ®

The convention honored former
Congressman Robert Ramspect
on Monday with a ‘Bob
Ramspect’ Day. Friends of Bob,
including Congressman Hagan,
paid tribute to him for his serv
ice as a Congressman from the
Fifth District, chairman of the
Post Office and Civil Service
Committee and especially as
author of the Ramspect-O’Ma
honey Bill which placed post
masters under civil service as
career employees rather than
strictly political appointees.

tion were Francis Cowan of
Ellenwood; Pearl Hester of Con
ley. and Willard Mann of River
dale.
The Fourth District was well
recognized at the convention,
placing three postmasters as of
ficers in the chapter and the
Habersam Trophy for Postmas
ter of the Year awarded to Alton
Harvey of Thomaston and the
Habersham Award Certificate
for Outstanding Postmaster and
runner-up for the trophy
awarded to Walter H. Phillips,

phases of Welfare work and these
will be led by leaders in the
respective fields.
There will be institutes on
Administration; Services for Ex
ploited Children; Alcoholism;
Problems of the Aging; Group
Work; Mental Health; Foster
Homes; Fundamentals of Public
Welfare; and Staff Training for
Directors.
On Wednesday morning, Miss
Mary Houk of the Division of
Social Services, University of
Indiana, will give an address on
“Learn to do a Better Job.” The
