THIS IS NORTH CLAYTON’S YEAR, it seems, and there is more to be proud of, believe it or not,
than the championship North Clayton High School football team. Last Saturday, for instance, the
new Civic building which will house the new Court House, civic groups and the North Clayton
Home Demonstration Club was dedicated at a splendid Open House. Dedicatory speakers were
the Hon. P. K. Dixon, chairman of the Clayton County Commissioners, and Carey Webb, College
Park Councilman. Ladies of the HD clubs were hostesses and served delectable refreshments.

The evening’s activities were
held in the gaily decorated
cafetorium. Mrs. A. N. Bell,

the teachers. She expressed her
wish that the teachers might
put aside cares and make the
evening rare, have a few laughs,
make new friends, and renew
old acquaintances before the
evening ended.
Ted Key, program chairman,
started the evening’s activities
with the group singing Christ
mas Carols. Each school did
their best to out sing the
others.

much to the delight of the
group. The most original gift
was received by Wilbur Peacock,
principal of Lake City Elemen
