The Chit Chat Club of Edge
moor West enjoyed their Christ
mas party at Harbin’s Dining
Room in Forest Park on Satur
day evening, Dec. 15. Special en
tertainment was provided by
the social committee. The door
prize, which was a beautiful
Christmas centerpiece, was won
by Mrs. A. V. Brown. There were
thirty-four guests present.
Mr. and Mrs. Mike Gecik have
as their Christmas holiday
guests at their home on Scar
lett Drive, Mrs. Gecik’s aunts,
Mrs. Ray Patterson and Mrs.
Robert Bradford, of West Point,
Va.
Master Fred Abel was enter
tained on his seventh birthday
by his mother, Mrs. Jack Abel, at
their home on Hilltop Road on
Thursday, Dec. 20, from three to
four. The party was a combina
tion birthday and Christmas en
tertainment. Christmas Carols
were sung and pinning the
whispers on Santa Claus were
among the entertainment fea
tures. Guests were Charles
Walker, Mark and Kerry Phil
lips, Keith Jones, Jerry, Bill and
Beverly Arnold, Gary Rogers,
Donald Christopher, Al and
Steve Hughes, Cheryl Roberts,
Stan Hand and Ward Abel. Mrs.
Starr Maddox, of Fort Myers,
Fla., Ward’s grandmother, was
also present and will remain

and features “Homemakers’
Holiday” on Tuesday, to begin

SERVICE OF CHRISTMAS
MUSIC
On Sunday evening the music
ministry of the First Baptist
Church presented the Graded
Choirs in a service of beautiful
Carols sung by the Beginner,
Primary and Junior Choirs and
the Cantata, “Love, Transcend
ing,” sung by the Youth and
Sanctuary Choirs. The Begin
ner, Primary and Junior Choirs
are under the direction of Mrs.
J. R. Clidtt and the Youth and
Sanctuary Choirs are under the
direction of Mrs. Bernard
Threatte. At the close of the
service the church honored the
Choirs with a reception in the
social hall.

Pilot Club Members
Visit Rest Home
Members of the Pilot Club of
Forest Park, who have a soul
satisfying project—the Faith,
Hope and Charity Home for the
aged—in Stockbridge, took fruit
baskets and a timely story by
Barbara Gaultney to the rest
home on Sunday, Dec. 16.
The Club joined the 39 resi
dents, including a lady from
Ireland and a couple married
70 years who both are 90 years
old, and thoroughly enjoyed the
music programs, the talks with
them, and the stories told by
the little old lady from Erin,
whose thick Gaelic was en
chanting.
This is an annual Christmas
visit for the Forest Park Pilot
Club, whose members had their
own Christmas party at the Fire
Station last Monday night. They
had Santa Claus and refresh
ments, and the youngsters en
joyed a twist contest.

Mrs. D. P. Dent last week are
Dr. and Mrs. Clyde Piephoff and
sons Billy and Bob, of Green
ville, S. C. Dr. Piephoff was a
former pastor here.
Mr. and Mrs. Anthony Poulos
of 122 Collingwood Terrace will
spend Christmas in Miami, Flor
ida. Mrs. Poulos will stay on at
their home there, for some
weeks, while he is about his
business as a pilot.

know she is making her home
at the Westbury Nursing Home
in Jenkinsburg, Ga. She is well

G. W. Looney is making such
fine progress in Room 402-B at
Crawford W. Long hospital that
he hopes to be home for Christ
mas. His many friends join with
his family in rejoicing in his re
turn to health.
The E. L. Addis family, of
Elizabeth Drive, are enjoying
the holiday with Grandma, Mrs.
Elsie Pearson, at her home in
Walhalla, S. C. The boys espe
cially enjoy being there be

Pilot Club Visited
By District Governor
Mrs. Emmy D. Murray, of La-
Grange, governor of District 1
Pilot International, made an of
: ficial visit to the Pilot Club of
Forest Park on December 3.
This annual visit made by the
governor is “not to inspect
clubs,” but to strengthen pilot
relations, and to give assistance
to clubs when needed.
District 1 is composed of 49
clubs in the State of Georgia
with a membership of approxi
mately 1,300 members. Pilots are
executive, business and profes
sional women, and membership
in Pilot is by invitation only. It
is a classified service club which
stresses its principles of friend
ship and service.
Mrs. Murray’s classification is
major: Education, Adult Con
tinuation, her minor: Educa
tional Services.
Her visit was most enjoyable,
her comments enlightening and
inspirational to Pilot members.

Reopens Wed.
City Hall of Forest Park will
be closed for the Christmas
Holidays until Wednesday, ac
cording to an announcement by
Mayor Reid Puckett, giving em
ployees a long holiday.
