Summer
Pleasant dreams are yours year-round
with a flameless electric heat pump
Even the sheep jump for joy when people
sleep in controlled-weather homes! You, too,
can enjoy perpetual spring by installing an
electric heat pump.
It cools, dehumidifies, cleans and circulates
air in summer. In winter, it reverses its
cycle to keep your home warm. At time of
installation, set the thermostat. Then sea
sonal change-overs are automatic.
The heat pump costs less than ever to
operate under our total-electric rate. So chart
your course to the joy of total-electric living.

Unde Paul 'Pink Cadillac'
Performer in City Plumbing!
Uncle Paul Addis, who, for strange reason was one of those in the inner sanctum
sanctorum at City Hall when Uncle Reid Puckett, the Lord High Mayor of the Admiralty,
VETOED the action of Councilmen Waldrop, Looney, Foust and Bateman in dismissing
a City Manager who let down all his friends and supporters—and his mother—is ap
pearing in the audit as a “PINK CADILLAC” performer in plumbing for the football
stadium and recreation (?) building—without that usual formality of a BID.
Former councilman and Mayor
Pro-Tern Addis, who is no stran
ger in the office of The Free
Press, as he visited ONCE with
the late councilman Ben Lopez
to complain about the penchant
of The Free Press to abhor
political chicanery—in offices
of public trust—may have re
ceived as much or more than
$40,000 on stadium plumbing,
and he is listed in the statement
of amounts paid vendors by the
city for materials and services
on recreation buildings—July 1,
1962, to July 24, 1963, as re
ceiving another $10,946.01. It
also is noted that the City of
Forest Park still owes Mr. Addis
(Addis Plumbing Company, that
is) $282.68. He could wash his
CADILLAC if he can get this
money.
Junior Gaultney’s (Mayor Pro-
Tern) company that he repre
sents—Cowan Supply Co.—is
listed as having received a
modest $30.87, and the question
has been raised: Is Junior a
partner in the company, or an
officer? Did he sell plumbing
supplies to Uncle Addis? On the
stadium project, we mean? Or
even on the recreation building
project?
Uncle Reid put Uncle Addis on
the Housing Authority. Could
that mean anything? It could
mean friendship—friendship,
like the old song says.
Be sure and look back
at Page I—DEDICATED TO
“Honesty in Government”
(with apologies to ex-Gov.
Vandiver), and see what Uncle
Paul demanded of The Free
Press!
By the way, Anthony Grey—
he insists it be spelled G-R-E-Y
—also drives a CADILLAC.
And by the way (we repeat
the refrain), it is understood
that Uncle Addis’ daughter has
resigned her position at City
Hall.
Don’t blame us for performing
a service—Uncle Paul, by letter,
—in effect asked us to pull all.
the plugs! We believe we have
pulled all the plugs in his bath
tubs for the time being.
