Mr. and Mrs. J. D. Davis, of Forest Park, announce the engage
ment of their daughter, Linda Carol Davis, to Kenneth Russell
Benefield, son of Mr. and Mrs. G. L. Benefield. Miss Davis is a
graduate of Forest Park High School and Greenleaf College. She
is presently employed by S. J. Durrance Co., Inc. Mr. Benefield
is a graduate of Forest Park High School and a student at Geor
gia State College. He is presently employed by Stanford’s Dept.
Store. The wedding will be March 15, 1964 at the First Baptist
Church in Forest Park.

Miss Lima Hurley
Feted at Luncheon
An invitation to lunch turned
out as a surprise farewell party
for Miss Lima Hurley of Mor
row at the home of Mrs. H. L.
Cawthon on Lake Harbin Road,
Morrow,
Miss Hurley and her brother,
Alex Hurley, are moving to
Florida in near future and will
move into a new home recently
completed.
After everyone sat around and
chatted, Mrs. F. A. Black, presi
dent of the WSCS and Ladies
Bible Class of the Morrow Meth
odist Church, presented Miss
Hurley with a gift of a bed
spread from the members.
Cake, coffee and nuts were
served by Mrs. Cawthon and
Mrs. C. L. Murphy.

don, Maybelle, Hoover, A. S. Fort,
Cecil Jones, J. T. Mays, Charles

First Christian
Women Have
Mission Study
The women of First Christian
‘ Church, Forest Park, met at the
‘home of Mrs. Clem Ferguson,
122 Warner St., Thursday eve
ning, February 13th, for their
‘monthly missionary study and
business meeting.
~ The president, Mrs. Doris
Rhodenizer, conducted the meet
ing, with Mrs. Jane Eynon pre
‘senting the devotions, “Servanis
‘}lnformed”. The missionary
;theme, A Spirit of Power, was
| continued in the presentation of
Power over Traditional Religion
and Communism in Europe,
given by Mrs. Helen Hudson.
{ Among the missions studied were
Charles Troyer Mission in Italy,
and Ed Fausz in West Germany.
The group furthered its pians
of sponsoring Winston -Salem‘
Bible College booth at the an
nual missionary rally, at the
ner of entertainment for the
visitors.
Mr. and Mrs. J. A. Dooley of
Bridge Avenue were the lucky
winners in a recent WSB Radio
contest. They chose the winner
in an ice skating contest and
were awarded two free tickets
to “Holiday On Ice”. Besides the
show itself, the contest was a
lot of fun.
O. B. Barineau of Woodland
Drive is improving at Ft. Ben
ning Military Hospital and is
now off the ‘“critical” list.
Mrs. C. T. (Evelyn) Toole, for
merly of Forest Park and now
living in Minneapolis, Minn., was
visiting old friends, the C. B.
Howards, at Lake City, over the
past week. ;
Mrs. Marlin DeFoor is at Pied
mont Hospital with a broken
hip. It is mending nicely accord
ing to latest reports, and the
good wishes of her many friends
are winging their way to her.
Mrs. Paul Huie of Morow is
ill at Westbury Nursing Home
where she is battling a bout of
pneumonia. Her friends are
wishing her a speedy and com
plete recovery and return home.
Sincere sympathy goes to Mrs.
M. R. (Peggy) Sutton on the
death of her father, Mr. C. L.
Barrett.

Jonesboro. Edward Douglas has
great-grandparents, Mr. and
Mrs. N. T. Dennis, living in For
est Park.
