taken?
State law provides for the
prosecution of any person who
receives Public Assistance
fraudulently and it also pro
vides for the recovery of mon
ey illegally received. The
same penalties apply to any
person who aids or abets an-
other to receive Public Assist

Capt. Cranston Receives
Commendation Medal
ATLANTA ARMY DEPOT —
■ ‘ Captain Robert Cranston, son
of Mr. and Mrs. Charles C. Cran
ston, 59 Chestnut St., Spring
ville, N. Y., has received the
Army Commendation Medal for
exceptionally meritorious
achievement while serving as
Technical Supply Officer during
the period 1 October 1962 to 13
September 1963. Presentation
was made by Col. J. P. Alexan-
with the procedures of adop
tion and will answer the many
questions anyone contemplat
ing adoption will have.
3. Would it not be simpler and
much quicker to just find a
child and arrange through a
third party to adopt it?
It would seem at the outset to
be less complicated and it
ivould be faster. However,
many adoptive parents have
com& to grief over this type of
adoption. When you adopt a
child through the Depart
ment of Family and Children
Services, all legal details are
taken care of and there is no
possibility that the child can
be taken from you at a later
time Independent adoptions
are faster and less compli
cated but are ahvays more
risky and often dangerous.

HEARS DR. SPILLE
“Adequate nutrition and rest
are needed for a person to func
tion properly, physically and
mentally,” stated Dr. Donald
Spille, Executive Director of the
Metropolitan Atlanta Mental
Health Association, guest speaker
at the Lake City School PTA
meeting April 20th. “There is no
such thing as perfect health.
The same is true of mental
health. Everyone is located
somewhere on the continuum be
tween good or not so good mental
health. Leadership denotes a
stronger individual. All of us
have problems. The more mature
can approach a solution to their
problems but everyone has a
stress breaking point. When a
person’s problems seem unsolv
able, professional help is need
ed.”
“Outlook determines a per
son’s reaction in time of stress.
Our outlook should be realistic

life. An outlook is learned and

close personal contact from in
