Mr. and Mrs. Charles E. Mac-
Allaster of Ellenwood were
happy to have their daughter
home to spend Mother’s Day
week-end. Other guests were her
roommate, Carole Atanasoff of
Fredrick, Md., and Billy Cronic.
All are students at the Univer
sity of Georgia.
Mrs. Mike Smith, her parents,
the Sam Mitchells, and sisters,
Mrs. Hershall Turner and Mrs.
H. B. Sanford, spent a recent
week-end in Birmingham, Ala.
They went to visit another sister
and her family, the Jimmy
Goodwins. On Sunday the party
visited" their old church’ at
Cullam to join in homecoming

Mr. and Mrs. R. L. Wood left
on April 24, for the New York
World’s Fair. En route, they vis~
ited Mr. and Mrs. G. B. Wood
and family in Washington, D. C.
While in New York they were
guests of their son, David Craig,
and Mrs. Craig. They returned
home byway of Cleveland, Ohio,
where they visited Mr. and Mrs.

Mrs. Dot Lee, outgoing presi
dent, presided at the luncheon
and business meeting, which was
attended by all the past presi
dents and new presidents of the
locals. Special guests from the
county level were Ernest Stroud,
Terrell Starr and Joe Lane.
New officers were elected and
installed by Mrs. Baker; installed
as the new - president, Mrs.
Frances Lowe, representing Lake
City Elementary School, and
Mrs. Lois Herring of the North

secretary-treasurer.

Mrs. James R. Martin Jr. of
Camelot Parkway, Jonesboro, is
home after a visit to the hospital
to have her thumb and three
fingers sewn back on. She lost
the first finger altogether, in a
lawn mower accident. Seems to
be the first of the season’s cas
ualties this year. Do be careful.
We have moved onto Central
Avenue—our sign is out there to
tell you so. And we will be
pleased to have you come by and
visit. Now that vacation time is
almost here, wouldn’t it be nice
if you lucky people would call in
your holiday trips to us?

Mrs. Clara Wood of Atlanta
spent last week with her niece,
Mrs. D. L. Walters, Mr. Walters
and family, at their home on
Lake Jodeco.

panied by Miss Linda Ponder,
also a student at Reinhardt Col

Fort Walton Beach, Fla.

Methodist ‘Church in Kenwood
on Sunday, May 10. Mrs. West
was the mother of Mrs. Will
Camp.
Mrs. Elsie Cauthen visited Mr.
and Mrs. S. G. Cauthen in We
tumpka, Ala., during the week
end.
Mrs. Duffee’s Kiddie Kollege
Kindergarten’s program will be
at the Jonesboro Senior High
School on Thursday, May 28, at
8 p.m. The public is cordially in

Lt. Butler was graduated from
Mercer University where he was

ternity. He received the master
of science in social work from
the University of Tennessee and
is serving with the Medical
Corps of the Army at Fort Hood,
Baptist Hospital.

Women’s Civic
Club of Morrow
To Have Speaker
The Executive Board of the
Women’s Civic Club of Morrow
met Thursday, May 14, at the
home of Mrs. Pat Lewis. The
meeting was presided over by
the new president, Mrs. Tommy
Budkoski, and was concluded
with a shower for Mrs. Gwen
Newstadt.
The regular meeting of the
club will be held Monday, May
25, at the Morrow Community
Center. The guest speaker will
