Mr. and Mrs. Harold Donald Morris announce the engagement
of their daughter, Alice Berona, to Eldridge Martin Holman Jr.,
son of Mr. and Mrs. Eldridge Martin Holman of Atlanta. Miss
Morris attended Athens High School and is presently a senior at
the University of Georgia where she is a member of Kappa Delta
sorority. Mr. Holman was graduated from the Georgia Military
Academy and the University of Georgia where he was a member
of Lambda Chi Alpha, social fraternity and Delta Sigma Pi busi
ness fraternity. He is presently employed with the Bank of
Forest Park. The wedding is to be June 28 at the First Methodist
Church in Athens.

on May 29. Next year, Nancy will 1

School in Hiwassee. She was a

mentary School before moving
to Hiwassee.
Mr. and Mrs. Neil Oliver and
children spent last week end
with Mrs. Oliver’s parents, Mr.
and Mrs. B. F. Hill in Reynolds,
Ga. ।
Mr. and Mrs. J. C. Jones'and
Miss Cecelia Lewis spent the
week end of Mother’s Day in
Macon as guests of Mr. and Mrs.
C. F. Baker. Mr. and Mrs. Jones
and Miss Lewis had as their last
week end guests, Mr. and Mrs.
W. H. Odom and family of Au
gusta. Mr. Jones left on Sunday
for Savannah to attend the Pub
lic Health Convention, returning
home on Wednesday.
The Lakeshore Country Club
held Open House in the beauti
ful new club house located on
the shores of Lake Spivey on
Sunday, May 17, from 3:30 to
6:30. 300 guests called during the
afternoon and enjoyed the tour
of the building and grounds. The
Entertainment Committee acted
as hostesses, under the Chair
manship of Mrs. Frank Moessner.
Five teen age daughters of
members, Misses Betty and Mary
Foster, Candy Huddleston, Con
nie Smith and Kathy Moessner,
assisted in serving
Mr. R. L, Wynn Jr. of Spartan
burg, S. C„ arrived on Monday
evening to visit his mother, Mrs.
. R. L. Wynn Sr., his sister, Mrs.
A. J. Mundy, who has been ill in
the Georgia Baptist Hospital and
to see the family of Mr. Arthur
Wynn of Lovejoy. Mr. Wynn’s
funeral was held on Wednesday
at Dickson’s Chapel. Mr. Vern
Wynn, of Smyrna, also attended
the funeral. Among others from
out of town were Mr. Jim Mar
tin and his two sisters, Marie
and Lavada, of Atlanta.
Mrs. Elsie Cauthen gave a Bon
Voyage luncheon at her home on
North Avenue on Friday in
honor of Mrs. J. W. Taylor. Mrs.
Taylor boarded a Jet in New
York for Europe on Monday, May
25th. Other guests were Mrs.
Josie Goss and Mrs. F. Carter.
Mr. and Mrs. P. V. Langston
spent last week end in Morehead
City, N. C„ where they went deep
sea fishing. Mrs. Langston and
daughter Laura left on Monday
for Memphis, Tenn., where they
will visit relatives and friends
for a week and on their return,
Mrs. Langston’s daughter, Vir
ginia, student at Siena College,
Memphis, will accompany them.
Mrs. Dicki Smith, of Miami,
Florida, was the guest of her
'grandmother, MFs? Ralph’Hutch’-
ins at her home on South Main
Street last week. Miss Smith re
turned to Miami by Jet on Mon
day.

We will be glad to show you the
minutes Qf the Clayton County
Board of Education at any time
so long as you are requesting
such information in the ethical,
professional manner that we at
tempt to operate the Clayton
County School System. At the
time you requested to see these
minutes we were not in a po
sition to release them because
Mr. Cherry had not requested a
hearing before the Board of Ed
ucation and still has not re
quested a hearing. We are re
leasing this information only
after he sees fit to launch a pro
fessional attack on the Clayton
County School System, the Clay
ton County Board of Education,
and the county school admini
stration.

The Forest Park Woman’s
Club met May 11 at the club
house. Mrs. Paul Foster was wel
comed as a new member.
Mrs. Ted Morgan introduced
Mr. Logan, who gave the invo
cation. Mr. Logan is a board
member of the Memorial Chris
tian Church, and the Jaycee’s
man of the year.
Mrs. Pat Cravey, from the At
lanta School of Art, was the
guest speaker. Mrs. Cravey dis
cussed the summer school pro
gram, which is available to chil
dren and adults.
The club unanimously selected
Mrs. M. E. Willy as their nomi
nee for Georgia Homemaker of
the Year.
Refreshments were served by
the hostesses, Mrs. Elizabeth
Davis and Mrs. J. R. Turner, Jr.

The regular monthly business
meeting of the Young America
Woman’s Civic Club was held on
May 18, with Mrs. Barbara King,
president, conducting the meet
ing.
A report was made on the data
collected on the Gold Bond
Group Project Plan, by Mrs.
Nancy Elrod, project chairman.
Each member was asked to sign
the Pledge of Cooperation list.
Also, to start the project off with
a bang, to each donate one book
of Gold Bond Stamps.
It has been decided to set our
goal at a piece of playground
equipment for the new play
ground we are trying to obtain
in our area.
Seventeen members and nine
visitors were in attendance for
the special program on littering
by Mrs. Barbara Potts’ Girl
