the Mayor and the City Council of The
City of Jonesboro, Georgia, dated May
23, 1964, and under the power contained
in the charter of said city, sealed bids

Organized
The Clayton County 4-H Horse
and Pony Club was organized
May 18 at the Clayton County
Courthouse Annex Bldg, at 8:00
p.m. There were six members
present. The meeting was called
to order by Charlie Tucker,
County Agent.
The following officers were
elected: President, Ronnie Wal
lace; Vice President, George
Waddy; Secretary-Treasurer
Genny Brooks.
Mr. Bill Mundy gave a very
interesting talk on how the Club
could get organized for member
ship and participation in the
American Saddle Horse Breed
ers Club.
The District Meet will be held

which time the members will

Auxiliary Entertains
Their Fathers
The Girls Auxiliary of Calvary
Baptist Church entertained their
fathers at a banquet Friday, May
15, at Camp Clayton WMU As
sembly. There were 50 in attend
ance. The tables were beautifully
decorated by Mrs. Annette Huey.
The guest speaker was Rev.
L. L. McGee, who is secretary of
hospital chaplaincy in the Divi
sion of Chaplaincy of the South
ern Baptist Home Mission Board,
Atlanta, Ga.
The group was also honored
with the presence of Mrs. Guy
Murray who is the Clayton As
sociational GA Director.
Explorer Post 474
Hikes at Kennesaw
On Saturday. May 9, six mem
bers of Explorer Post 474, College
; Park, hiked the twenty-mile
[ Kennesaw Trail. The hike took
them about seven and one-half
hours. George B. Smith accom
panied the Explorers.
, Boys who hiked the trail were:
Tim Simmons, David Tidwell,
' Jimmy Fox, Bob Smith, Alto
. Dodson, and Sammy Lance.
These Explorers, who are mem
bers of Post 474 of the North
Clayton area, were well pleased
with how well the trail was or
-1 ganized and marked. All of these
i boys will receive the Kennesaw
Mountain Historical Trail Award.
