the “Little Red School House.''
Jaycees Support Mental Health
By joe McDaniel
The Forest Park Jaycees set
up solicitations last Saturday
with contributions going to the
“Little Red School House" so r
“Special Children" in Forest
Park.
Presenting a check in the
amount of $203.15 to Mrs. Bishop,
director of the school, is Jaycee
President, Joe McDaniel and
John Harrington. Director.
Chairman for the project was
Danny Fretwell, who did an out
standing job formulating this
project.
"The Little Red School House"
is supported solely by contribu
tions and boasts that it is the
only school of its kind in the area
whereby 90% of all monies re
ceived from contributions go di
rectly for equipment and sup
plies for its pupils. Only 10%
goes toward maintenance of the
building and grounds. Mrs.
Bishop informs us that none of
the monies received from con
tributions go toward salaries of
personnel or teachers, as these
are all volunteer workers. To
help the regular teachers, the
mothers of the pupils must give
of their time, one day per week.
There are forty (40) children
presently enrolled at the school,
which is the maximum number
it can accomodate at the present
time. Plans are now in progress
for a new modern building on
the present site and construction
will begin shortly.
If anyone would like to con
tribute to this school, you may
do so by sending your contribu
tions direct to “The Little Red
School House" College Park,
Georgia.
The Jaycees would like to ex
press their gratitude to the peo
ple of our community for being
