There is one area on ’
which parents should never
dwell; namely, “the good old
days.” The child born today
has so many things going
for him healthwise that we
are sometimes moved to
wonder how so many of us
made it up to parenthood.
Today’s newborn, for ex
ample, starts off with the
benefit of new discoveriesin
prenatal nutrition. Proper
immunization rules out
poliomyelitis, scarlet fever
and diphtheria, and there
are more weapons against
disease in the antibiotic
field than you can shake a
stick (pestle) at.
The new infant can ex
pect to be taller, stronger
and heavier than his par
ents; his bones will be bet
ter: his teeth superior and,
in the event of an ailment,
he can expect care and
treatment miles ahead of
the best the good old days
could offer,
To get well faster and
stay well longer paste this
suggestion in your hats, par
ents, for today and many to
morrows: Have your pre
scriptions filled quickly and
carefully at WILSON PHAR
MACY, Corner of Main &
College Sts., in Forest Park

There’s still time to prepare for winter
by converting to flameless electric heat |
The first chill of autumn is in the air and winter
is on its way. But vou still have time to install a 7
flameless electric heating system in your home. ‘
Ilectric heat is clean, with no by-products
. . . , |
of combustion — no fuel grime or dust. It's an \
even heat, with no cold drafts or hot blasts. E
It's economical, too, for a special low rate is :
available to total-electric residential customers. ;
And with budget billing, the electric bill is the “
same amount every month. |

Mrs. Gene Hardy was the
bride’s only attendant. Her
street length dress of pea
cock blue satin was made
with a bell-shaped skirt and
sleeveless fitted bodice,
which featured a scoop
neckline. With this she wore
matching satin slippers and
veil and white gloves. She
carried a bouquet of white
carnations brushed with
blue.
The bride’s father gave
her in marriage. She was
radiant in a street-length
model of white bridal satin
made with a bell-shaped
skirt and fitted bodice. An
overblouse of Chantilly lace
featured long pointed
sleeves. Her elbow length
veil was held to her hair by
a spray of chiffon leaves
embroidered with pearls.
The bride's only ornament
was a pearl pendant, gift of
the groom. She carried a
white Bible topped with two
yellow-throated white or
chids and lily of the valley.
The groom'’s mother wore
a model of light blue bro
cade with a corsage of or
chids.
A costume of pink brocade
was chosen by the bride’s
mother. Her corsage was an
orchid.
Special guest was the
bride’s maternal grand
mother, Mrs. J. P. Raines.
The couple are at home to
their friends at 1630 Wood
berry Avenue, East Point.

Bond Quiz
Question: Has there been
some change lately in the
limitation of purchases of
Series E and H Savings
Bonds?
Answer:
Yes, you may
now pur
chase up to
$20,000 (ma
turity value)
of Series E
Bonds, in any
calendar
year, and
up to $30,000
(face value)
Red Garner
of Series H Bonds. Also the
one calendar month’s ad
vance notice before redeem
ing Series H Bonds has been
eliminated, except for bonds
presented for payment dur
ing the month preceding
and interest payment date,
in which event the bonds
would be paid in the follow
ing month.
Question: Back during
World War Two, we bought
Savings Bonds at rallies to
support our troops overseas.
Is this appropriate, today,
with Vietnam?
Answer: President John
son has said that the pur
chase of Savings Bonds not
only strengthens the econ
omy of the country but
backs the attack of our
fighting men in Southeast
Asia.
Question: I keep reading
and hearing about the tax
advantages of buying Sav
ings Bonds. Just what is this
advantage?
Answer: Interest which
accrues on Series E Bonds
every six months does not
have to be reported for Fed
eral income tax purposes
until the bonds are cashed
or reach maturity, which
could be a period of 17 years.
E Bonds can be exchanged
for Series H Bonds with the
accrued interest not becom
ing taxable until the H
Bonds are cashed or reach
final maturity. At no time is
the interest subject to State
or local income taxes.

Notes On
Chiropractic
BY DR. HENRY L. FOLEY
The first essential of
achievement is a desire to
do, an ambition to succeeq,
a wish crystallized into ac-
tion.
A passive
wish means
nothing,
prayer with
out works is
dead but g 2
'longing de
sire that stirs
your whole
being unti]
you begin to
plan, work,
and do is the basis of ac
complishment. Nothing can
stop a person who visualized
clearly and is animated by
a burning desire to fulfill g
mission.
Sometimes the way is
hard. Difficulties may seem
insurmountable, others may
say it’s impossible, but if
you desire a thing long
enough and strong enough
to make your dream come
true, it will become a reality.
One of the first essentials
of success and accomplish
ment is good health. With
out health nothing matters
very much and often the de
sire to do is weak when
health is poor and disease
undermines your being. Yet,
like desire, the basic qual
ities of health come from
within and need only a clear
right of way for normal
manifestation.
’ Chiropractors maintain
that falls and accidents,
even minor mishaps, often
strain the spine and slip a
vertebra, or disc, so that
nerves are pinched, result
ing in various health prob
lems.
Chiropractors are trained
to make necessary spinal
adjustments to correct the
spinal cause of disease and
thereby health and a more
abundant life is possible.
