Why the word infantry

theory is that foot soldiers

North Clayton High
Loses to Lakeshore
North Clayton High closed
out its campaign Friday
night with a plucky but los
ing battle to Lakeshore
High’s Lancers, 21‘-7, thus
winding up with three vic
tories for the season. This
was Lakeshore’s first unde
feated season in history.
Fullback Larry Goode was
the difference as he peeled
off 110 yards in 20 carries to
be the leading ground-gain
er of the night and spear
headed the 18 first-down to
tal for his team. The Lancers
rushed for 245 yards.
Goode registered two of
the three Lancer touch
downs, scoring on 15 and 2-
yard runs after showing the
way downfield.
Clayton put up a fierce
fight and at half-time was
behind only 7-0.
The Eagles displayed a
back who gave Goode some
competition. Glenn Buice
was the name. He was a
power on offense and also
crashed across for his team’s
lone TD in the final period.
