The petition of APPLE HILLS
DEVELOPMENT, INC. respectfully
shows the following facts, to-wit:
1. Petitioner was Incorporated by
Order of this Court on September
11, 1964, and it now desires to sur
render its charter and franchises to
the State of Georgia and be dis
solved as a corporation.
2, Such dissolution may be al
lowed without injustice to any
stockholder or to any person having
any claim or demand of any char
acter against said corporation.
3. At a joint meetngol the stock
holders and Board of Directors held
on January 20, 1967, at which time
all of the outstanding stock of the
corrorauon was represented and
which was held Burluant to a call
of the Board of Directors a resolu
tion was unanimously adopted,
upon the recommendation of the
Board of Directors, by the affirma
tive vote of the entire capital stock
that the corporation surrender its
charter and franchises and be dis

R. L. Jackson is changing
land use of 300 acres of his
985 acre Flint River Farm
located south of Jonesboro
this Winter. He is planting
pasture and hayland to lob
lolly pines.
Mr. Jackson bought sev
eral farms that joined in
early 1940’5. He requested
the Upper Ocmulgee River
District to assist him in pre
paring a soil and water con
servation plan for his land.
‘With the aid of a soil capa
bility map of the area pre
pared by Soil Scientist of
U.S.D.A. — Soil Conservation
Service, soil classes, types,
slope or steepness and
eroded condition of each
area and field were shown
on one aerial photograph.
Some of the land was up
land, some bottom land and
a percentage swampland due
to flood plain of Flint Riv
er, Camp Creek and other
small streams.
Mr. Jackson has done a
very good job in establishing

ATLANTA ARMY DEPOT—Mrs. Robert L. Morris admires
the Air Medal just presented to her husband, Chaplain
(Capt.) Robert L. Morris, Depot Chaplain. Since receiv
ing the Air Medal, the Chaplain has also received the
Bronze Star and the first Oak Leaf Cluster to the Air
Medal. The awards were in recognition of his outstand
ing service in Vietnam with the Green Berets, which took
him into remote areas of the country as well as into
towns and cities. Chaplain Morris attended the Univer
sity of Richmond, Southeastern Baptist Theological Semi
nary, and the Army Chaplain School. He is a member of
Naomi Lodge AF&AM No. 87 and the Military Chaplains

were terraced, vegetative
waterways established in
field depressions, certain
areas cleared of bushes,
trees, rocks and other ob
structions, as steep bench
terraces. Drain ditches of
12,000 feet were established
on Beaver Run Creek to get
40 acres where it could be
planted to fescue-clover pas
ture.
Now, you can look over the
farm and see acres of grass
for pasture and hay that _
has through the years main
tained many head of cattle,
hogs and sheep. Look close
to see if you find any gully
and sheet erosion on this
farm, today? Mr. Jackson is
to be commended for a job
well done. It has taken many
hours of labor, machinery,
fence construction with
much planning and thought
to operate. Now, trees will
provide good land protection
and a good future income
from this land.
