Mrs. J. T. Shattles, and Mrs.
Olia Turner of Atlanta, and
the late Mr. A. E. Hendrix.
The groom is the grand
son of Mr. and Mrs. K. A.
Godfrey of Jonesboro, and
Mrs. Frank E. Felt of Ant
werp, New York and the late
Mr. Felt.
The wedding took place
on Friday, February 3, at the
Base Chapel, Lowry Air
Force Base, Denver, Colo
rado. The bride was given
in marriage by her father.

and is presently employed by

enue in Denver.
Airman Felt graduated
from Jonesboro High School
and attended Georgia State
College, where he was a
member of Pi Kappa Phi
Fraternity. He is now in the
United States Air Force, sta
tioned at Lowry Air Force
Base, Colorado.

Martin-Baker
The engagement of Diane
Martin, daughter of Mr. and
Mrs. T. D. Martin of Decatur,
has been announced to Mr.
R. Gerald Baker, son of Mr.
and Mrs. Calvin E. Baker of
Conley.
The bride-elect was grad
uated from Southwest De-
Kalb High School and Marsh
College. She is employed by
the American Telephone and
Telegraph Company.
Miss Martin is the grand
daughter of the late Mr. and
Mrs. J. S. Spence of Cum
ming and Mrs. Frank Martin
and the late Mr. Frank Mar
tin of Westminster, South
Carolina.
The future bridegroom
was graduated from South-
west DeKalb High School
and Massey College, Suma
Cum Laude. He received his
Associate in Engineering de
gree with highest honor
from Southern Technical In
stitute where he served as
vice-president and president
of Tau Alpha Pi National
Honor Society. He is em
ployed by Delta Airlines, Inc.
Mr. Baker is the grandson
of Mr. James R. Baker of
Conley and the late Mrs.
Baker and the late Mr. and
Mrs. G. M. Fielder of Rex.
The wedding will be April
15.

To Speak at
Lake City PTA
The regular monthly
meeting of the Lake City
Elementary PTA will be held
March 21 at 7:30 p.m. in the
school cafetorium.
The featured speaker Mary
J. Gordon has taught classes
for adults in child develop
ment and child guidance in
the University of Georgia
Extension Division for the
last four years. For the
Headstart Program she has
taught teachers at the Uni
versity in Athens and at
Georgia Tech. Mrs. Gordon
was director of a private
kindergarten with ten
classes, composed of three,
four, and five year olds for
eight years. A degree candi
date at Emory University in
Special Childhood Education
and Educational Psychology,
she is now liason person
from the University of Geor
gia Research and Develop
ment Division assigned to
the Clayton County Pre-
School Experimental Pro
gram at the Suder School in
Jonesboro.

Installation Banquet
FP Woman's Club
The Installation Banquet
of Forest Park Woman’s
Club was held in the Brad
ford Room Monday evening,
March 13, 1967.
Judge Joe Lane installed
the new officers in a unique
ceremony featuring car keys
and cars. This theme was
carried out in a setting of
camellias and candlelight.
Officers Installed were Mrs.
Charles Toole, President;
Mrs. M. R. Sutton, First
Vice-President; Mrs. Homer
Parker, Second Vice Presi
dent; Mrs. Oscar Leathers,
Recording Secretary and
Mrs. M. E. Willy, Treasurer.
The invocation was given
by the Rev. William Howell,
pastor of Forest Park Luth
eran Church.
This year, the Education
Department spotlighted
“Know Your State”, and the
chairman, Mrs. Homer Par
ker held a contest on the
History of Georgia. Mrs.
M. R. Sutton won the prize.
A silver chafing dish was
presented to the outgoing
president, Mrs. Claude
. Simpson, in appreciation of
the outstanding work she
did as head of the club. Mrs.

elimination in April.

Ec Club Meets
The March meeting for the
East Clayton Extension
Home Economics Club was
in the home of Mrs. Frank
Harris on Anvil Block Road
in Ellenwood with the presi
dent, Mrs. Ralph Boyd, pre
siding over the meeting.
Fifteen members were pres
ent to enjoy a talk by Miss
Mary Frances White, our
county economist. Her mes
sage for the month gave us
valuable information on
food freezing, the prepara
tion and proper method for
preserving the original fla
vor and taste and also told
us of the foods that do not
freeze well.
April meeting will be in
the home of Mrs. Guy Neal
and Mrs. Frank Harris will
present a program on pic
ture framing, and explain to
us the better arranging and
grouping of pictures in the
home.
Mrs. Guy Neal gave a re
port on the East Clayton 4-H
Club girls eliminating meet
ing and expressed her pleas
ure at the exhibits and
achievements of these girls.
