Strong Legs Will Run
That Weak Legs May Walk
Thanksgiving will be here before you know it . . . time
really passes by.
Thanksgiving is an extra special event in the Greater
Grant Field and they almost have on several occasions. Now
there are more than 50,000 seats and the sponsors plan to
attract a capacity crowd this Thanksgiving Day.
All in all, this is the finest football game played by fresh
men in the entire United States. No other freshman game
has such a goal as this—Strong legs will run that weak legs
may walk.
The freshmen of Tech and Georgia visit the youngsters
at the Scottish Rite Hospital the day before the game, and
nothing could be more inspiring. The resulting game is
highly spirited because of the visit.
So it is not just another freshman football game; it is
tops in the nation. Actually, some crippled children have
recovered to the extent that they have played in the game.
Another reason for this game being in a class by itself
is that everyone who enters the gates at Grant Field on
Thanksgiving Day pays to see the teams play.
It will give you an especially good feeling to patronize
this game on Thanksgiving Day. Take the whole family;
that’s what many do. It is a truly fine investment, and the
game itself is one of the best of the season.

Forest Park
Loses to
R. E. Lee
Forest Park’s “snake-bit”
gridiron legions, plagued
once more by fumbles and
penalties, fell victim to R. E.
Lee’s Rebels last Friday
night at Klwanis Field,
dropping their fourth game
of the season, 14-0, to make
their record now 4 wins, 4
losses and 1 tie.
Kicking specialist Jeff
King was out with a pulled
muscle which further de
prived the defenders, who
several times penetrated in
side the Lee 20 but the
Rebels’ stout defense hurled
them back.
After a scoreless first pe
riod in the second quarter a
roughing penalty against
the Panthers placed Lee at
the FP 30. On the next play
Rick Thomas sprinted 30
yards across the goal and
Taylor booted the point to
make it 7-0.
At the third quarter open
ing the Rebels took the
kickoff to their 37. Six plays,
including aerials of 27 and
17 yards, spear-headed the
second Lee score as Thomas
hurtled over from the 4.
Taylor delivered and it was
14-0, where it remained to
the finish.
Except for the two lapses
Forest Park’s defense was
wholly adequate. However it
