Gala
Homecoming
At Fountain
Homecoming at Fountain
High is always a spectacular
event and this year was no
exception. With the excep
tion of falling to Eva Thom
as High of College Park, 9-0,
in the football game last
Saturday night, everything
else was a big success.
Miss Mary Frances Green,
a senior and outstanding
track star at Fountain,
reigned over homecoming
activities. She was crowned
“Miss Fountain” last Thurs
day night in one of the most
beautiful coronation exer
cises the school has ever
had. Her attendants were
Misses Evelyn Matthews and
Octavia Clemmons, both two
vivacious seniors. Her court
also included the many
grade and club queens, all
who made up one of the
most beautiful courts the
school has ever known.
A colorful and festive pa
rade preceded the football
game last Saturday after
noon in downtown Forest
Park. After the parade a vic
tory dance was given at the
school.
The football game against
Eva Thomas was a hard
fought, spirited contest, but
Fountain failed to come up
with an offense to overcome
the powerful Bearcats. They
went down 9-0 to terminate
the football season.
Meet the
Candidates
In Morrow
Morrow Elementary School
will be the meeting place on
Friday, December 1, at 7:30
p.m. for many citizens in the
area. At this time the Mor
row Junior Woman’s Club,
Morrow Kiwanis, and Mor
row Lions Club will provide
the people with an oppor
tunity of meeting all candi
dates seeking election in the
City of Morrow.
Each candidate will have
time to speak and in turn
the citizens may submit
written questions from the
floor. The moderator will be
State Senator Kenneth Kil
patrick of Morrow. The citi
zens of Morrow have ex
pressed a desire for a meet
ing of this type and feel the
importance of the December
2nd election and an upcom
ing referendum warrant its
need. — •
Everyone in this vicinity
is urged to attend. There are
many questions residents
outside the city may have
as well as those residing
within the limits. We are
hopeful everyone will at
tend, become interested in
our community and by so
doing make it a productive
one.
