The Atlanta Braves, hop
ing to battle back as a con
tender in the National
League, will start their
twenty-seven game 1968
Spring Training schedule on
March 9 in West Palm Beach
Stadium against the Los An
geles Dodgers.
The schedule inclules sev
enteen games against seven
American League clubs and
ten games against six Na
tional League opponents.
The seven American League
teams the Braves will face
in the spring are Minnesota.
Washington, Baltimore. New
York. Oakland. Boston and
Detroit From the National
League, the Braves will play
Los Angeles. Cincinnati.

Third Marine Aircraft Wing,

part to a Marine infantry

support for the infantrymen
of the First Marine Division
and units of the Fleet Ma

Seventh Engineer Battalion
in the Republic of Vietnam.
The battalion is three
fold; to build and maintain
roads, support infantry units
and instruct Marines in the
use of mines and booby
traps.
The battalion, a part of
the Marine air-ground team,
is composed of Headquar
ters, Service, Engineer and
Bridge Companies.
The engineers Jtave par
ticipated in many major op
ticipated against enemy
forces, detecting and clear
ing mine fields, caves, tun
nels and enemy fortifica
tions.
The unit is also engaged in
a civic action program de
signed to assist the Viet
namese people in completing
self-help projects, such as
the building of wells, cul
verts, small bridges and
schools. Equipment and ma
terials for the projects are
made available through the
Marine Corps Reserve Civic
Action Fund. Marines in
Vietnam provide the know
how and guide the Viet
namese people in carrying
out these projects.
