Minimum wage rates for this proj
ect have been predetermined by the
Secretary of Labor and are set forth
in the advertised specifications /bid
proposal/.
Estimated cost of this project is ap
proximately $163.429 00. A contract
will not be awarded on a proposal
exceeding the estimated cost by 15%.
Said work shall begin within ten
(10) days after Notice to Proceed
has been issued and shall be com
pleted within the number of cal
endar days indicated. When con
tract has been executed, written no
tice shall be given the Contractor,
at w’hich time, and not before, work
may be started.

Notice is binding on the State High
way Department, as such. Said con
tract will not create liability, ex
pressed or implied, against the

Highway Department, as an individ
ual nor against any employee of the

Plans and Specifications may be
inspected at the offices of the under
signed at Atlanta, and at the Divi
sion Office indicated, and at the of
fice of the Board of County Com
missioners of the County in which
the work lies. Copies of the plans
may be obtained upon payment in
advance of the sum of $4 00, which
sums will not be refunded.
Proposals must be submitted on
regular forms, which will be sup
plied by the undersigned, and may
be obtained by a payment, in ad
vance. of $5 00 for each proposal
issued. When the proposal is sub
mitted. it must be accompanied t^y
a proposal guaranty in the form of
a certified check, cashier’s check,
negotiable United States Bonds, or
other acceptable security in the
amount indicated, and must be
plainly marked “Proposal for Road
Construction,” County and Number,
and show the time of opening as
advertised. Check of the low’ bidder
will be cashed and all other checks
will be returned as soon as the con
tract is awarded, unless it is deemed
advisable by the State Highway De
partment to hold one or more
checks. If an unsual condition arises,
the Stale Highway Department re- i
serves the right to cash all checks. I

main open and not subject to with

Upon compliance with the re
quirements of the Standard Specifi
cations, payment for work done shall

On projects involving Federal
Funds the minimum wages to be
paid shall be the amounts set out in
the Labor Provisions included in the
Proposal. The attention of bidders
is directed to the Special Provisions
covering employment of labor,
methods of construction, and sub
letting or assigning the contract. On
such projects, the State Highway De
partment, in accordance with the
provision of Title VI of the Civil
Rights Act of 1964 (78 Stat. 252) and
the Regulations of the Department
of Commerce (15 C.F.R., Part 8l
issued pursuant to such Act. hereby
notifies all bidders that it will af
firmatively issue that the contract
entered into pursuant to this ad
vertisement will be awarded to the
lowest responsible bidder without
discrimination on the ground of race,
color, or national origin.
In contracts involving State funds
