Troop 487, Boy Scouts
Scouts of Troop 487 pre
sented Hag ceremonies at the
Monday night meeting of the
Round Table at Jones Memo
rial Church. Scouts and their
parents were guests for a barbe
cue dinner. The flag ceremony
was very well presented by the
entire Troop. Mike Rawlings
and Craig Britt were flag
carriers, and the Troop led in
the Pledge of Allegiance.
Scouts of 487 adjourned
and met upstairs in the church
with their parents for planning
of the Appalachian hike. Mr.
Hoke met with the boys
Wednesday night for pack in
spection and final instructions
and plans. I lie troop leaves for
the Appalachian Trail Saturday
morning at 6 p.m. come rain or
shine, l-'ood for this trip will
mainly consist of dehydrated
foods as no cans or debris can
be left on the trail.
At the regular meeting on
October 7, 1968, there were
ten Scouts present and four
