STORING APPLES
If you store apples, store
them at 30 to 32 degrees
Fahrenheit. This is the advice
of C. I). Spivey, horticulturist
with the University of Georgia
Cooperative Extension Service.
Most varieties of apples cur
rently grown should be stored
at this temperature range.
It is many qualities united
in the same person, rather than
just one quality, that lead to
success.

DEMOCRATS LAY FINAL PLANS— Democratic candidates
gathered at the Clayton County headquarter in Forest
Park last week to lay final plans for victory on Nov. 5.
Left to right: Arch Gary, Jack Flynt. Bob Dey ton, Terrell
Starr and Mayor Charles Summerday of Forest Park.
MeEctitin,
Editor, Forest Park News
The citizens of Clayton
County have demonstrated at
the polls in the recent primary
and run-off that they have had
more than enough of the
policies and performances of
the present leaders of our
county government.
They have indicated their
desire for responsible leader
ship dedicated to serving all the
citizens of Clayton County,
equally and efficiently, regard
less of their status or member
ship within some minority
group.
It is perfectly clear that the
responsible, hard-working
people want their needs and
their children’s needs con
sidered and that’s what they
intend to have. Electing men

TERRELL STARR LISTEN
Which is exactly the way it should be. We tell our representatives
what we want and they go out and get it. (When a politician's al
ways talking, watch out. He can't hear anyone else over his own
voice.)
When Terrell Starr goes to work for you, you con rely on two
things. One, he'll listen to your opinions, your ideas, your hopes
for the future.
Two, he II act on them. With Terrell Star, you've got someone go
ing for you—a man with the necessary youth, energy and experi
ence to bring the very essence of progress and prosperity to the
people he represents.
Which is what we all want. We've got quite a future ahead of us,
and we must have a man in the Senate with the enthusiasm and
vigor to take advantage of every opportunity open to us.
That man is Terrell Starr.
Elect him Tuesday, November 5.
He'll start working for you Wednesday.

The candidates of the Clay

are prepared to provide respon
sible leadership for Clayton
County. They are capable, well
informed, and dedicated to
serve the citizens of Clayton

not been underwritten by any
special interest group, there
fore they cannot afford the
billboards and fancy adver

our area.
They do believe that the

Many favorable comments
were heard concerning our last

not enough time.”
Io try and remedy this, we
are having a carry-over of our
last program with a few vari

LAW AND ORDER
Terrell Starr has worked long hours searching
for better training and compensation for our
police. He knows that a well-trained, well-paid,
efficient law enforcement agency is the best
safeguard against crime and violence. Law and
order may break down elsewhere, but with
men like Terrel) Starr in our law-making body,
it won’t happen here.
EDUCATION AND RECREATION
Terrell Starr intends to expand and upgrade
our school system. He’ll work to secure more
state financing for small classes, higher teach
er salaries, improved recreational complexes,
better transportation facilities and the very
finest educational activity programs that can
be provided. As he says, “Our children deserve
the very best, and I’m going to see that thev
get it.” He will.
TAX RELIEF
Terrell Starr plans to get a greater share of
state money for our area. His method: legisla
tive reforms that will bring a more realistic
portion of state funds to our fast-growing
area. Another goal: more new industry to con
tribute to the cost of progress. “There are many
ways to lighten the burden of the taxpaying
citizen," Terrell Starr insists, “and I’m going
to pursue every one of them." Thats your man!
