Baptist Church attended Camp
Pinnacle at Clayton last week.

and family left on Friday for
Rocky Mount, North Carolina,

Mrs. Albert Wallace, Bailey
and Julie left on Wednesday for
Starlington, South Carolina, for
a visit until Monday with her
mother, Mrs. M.L.Thomas and

were among twenty seven High
School students who were se

Mr. and Mrs. Jack McNair
and family and Mrs. McNair’s
mother, Mrs. Lewis Tumlin
of Cartersville, vacationed for
a week touring the Carolinas,
Virginia, and Washington.
While in Washington, they vi
sited the graveside of the Ken
nedys and many other interest
ing places.
Dr. and Mrs. W. W. Long re
turned on Wednesday night after
visiting relatives in North and
South Carolina. They attended
Prayer Meeting on Wednesday
night at the church in Canton
where Dr. Long served as Pas
tor before coming to Jonesboro.
They enjoyed seeing their old
friends. Mrs. R. W. Boone of
New Smyrna Beach, Florida,
arrived on Friday for an over
night visit with her sister, Mrs.
Long and Dr. Long, as she was
enroute to Kentucky.

Forest Park, on Sunday, Mr.
and Mrs. Winston Warren and
Darien of Stockbridge, on Wed

Mrs. Gussie Walcott of Sli
dell, Louisiana, spent several
days last week with Mrs. E. L.
Stephens and other relatives.
Miss Ruth Brown attended a
luncheon at the home of Miss
Frances Green in Atlanta on
Thursday. She was also lunch

in Decatur on Monday.

of their grandson,George Louie
Brogdon HI and Miss Carol
Norris at the Clairmont Pres
byterian Church, Friday, Aug
ust 1, at 8 o’clock p.m. Mr.
Brogdon served as his grand
son’s best man.
Mr. and Mrs. W, R. Stan
ford vacationed for two weeks in
Winslow, Arizona. While there
Mrs. Stanford was carried to
Winslow Memorial Hospital
with a collapsed lung. They
have returned home and she is
convalescing nicely.
Mr. and Mrs. John H. Walk
er and family will vacation the
last two weeks in August in
Springfield, Illinois.
News has been received by
Mr. and Mrs. Press Woolf Jr.
of the birth and death of twin
girls born to Spec. 5 James
P. Curtis and Mrs. Curtis at
Ogden, Kansas. Mrs. Curtis
is the former Linda Woolf.

12th day of July, at 1 o’clock,
at St. John’s Catholic Church
in Hapeville. Father O’Shea
performed the ceremony.
Dale Sweatman was her maid
of honor, the bridesmaids were
Midge Clark, Ginger Clark and
Jane Hobbs. The best man was
Charles Holloway and the us
hers were Ricky Walker, Tony
Hobbs and Tommy King.

and pearls. Her bouquet was

carnations. The maid of honor
wore a pale yellow satin and
lace gown and the bridesmaids
wore pale yellow satin and chif
fon gowns. Their head pieces
were made of chiffon. Their
bouquets were made of yellow
tea roses and white carnations.

PFC Johnny Jarrard is home
for the weekend with his wife,
Marhta. She lives on Poplar
Springs Rd., College Park.
PO-3 Shayne Bushy will bring
2 weekend guests when he visits
his parents Mr. and Mrs. Har
ry Bushy this weekend. Shayne
is stationed at Patuxent River
Naval Base. His friends are
Lynn Boyd from Kansas City,
Missouri and Mike Voiles from
Chattanooga, Tenn.
Mrs. Evelyn Rider is home
from the hospital recuperating
from surgery and doing fine.
Mrs. Rider lives on E. Fay
etteville Rd., Riverdale.

dale on the arrival of a lovely
new baby daughter. She has
been named Dixie Lee.
Mrs. Ray Jones’ mother is
home from the hospital follow
ing spinal surgery. Mrs. R.
L. Burdette of East Point is
wished by all a very speedy
recovery.

spent a week in Montego Bay,
Jamaica and San Juan, Puerto
Rico. Janet and Wallace visit
ed with some dear friends and

School System. Sessions for
five year olds will be held each
weekday, 9;00 a.m. to 12;00,
beginning September 2nd in the

St. Timothy’s Christian kin
dergarten is the oldest church
related curriculum in Clayton
County, tracing its history back
to 1961. Registrations are li
mited to not more than 30 pupils
with the requirement that nor
mally a child must be five years
of age before December Ist of
the school term in order to ap
ply. At the present time va
cancies are still available for
the 1969-70 term. Interested
persons are requested to con
