The Georgia Power Company
Wednesday continued to pour
men and equipment into the
Gulf-coast area ripped Sunday
night by the 200-mile-per-hour
winds of Hurricane Camille.
Departing Wednesdey morn
ing from the company’s Colu
mbus, Macon and Valdosta divi
sions were 13 line crews num
bering 53 men. This brings the
total number of Georgia Power
personnel in the area to 139.
Eighty-six men composing 11
crews departed from the Atlan
ta, Athens, Rome and Macondi-<
visions early Monday while the
full fury of the storm still was
being felt in the distressed area.

Georgia power officials said
Wednesday the crews were join
ing personnel from other com
panies in the Southeast in
around-the-clock efforts to re
pair the massive damage and
restore electric service to the
ravaged coastal section.
