For five weeks, in each of the five buildings of the Young Men’s Christian Association, groups of .Augusta En tertainers have rendered delightful programs. The presence of these good people has been in inspiration to the soldier boys. The programs have been varied. Vocal and instrumental music, readings, plantation songs, dances by little children, minstrel shows, etc. Frequently at the close of the regular program, popular songs were played and, under the leadership of some com petent person, who was in the party, the boys have sung themselves hoarse until invited by the Secretary to go home, in order not to transgress the rules of the Camp. The committe in charge of these en tertainments is a sub-committee of the Council of National Defense, of which Mrs. Arrington is cnairman, and tne plan has been perfected by Mr. Frank C. Woods, representative of the Fosdick Commission, who has been helpful in many other ways. The soldiers will e glad to know that arrangements have een made for three weeks’ more of similar entertainment in each uilding. It is possile that aft er that time the program will e slight ly varied. For the Camp, “Trench and Camp,” expresses the thanks of all those who have heard and enjoyed the entertain ments given y this group of women, frequently at great sacrifice to them selves, oth of time and of energy. Oth ers have furnished free transportation for those taking part.
