Total (cents omitted here and above), $13,504,357,940. I'educt, sinking fund and postal return, $185,632,345. Total, $13,018,725,595. More than $1,000,000,000 will be- expend 'd for the signal service, which includes the army for the air. One billion dollars is asked for the pay of the army and miscellaneous expenses. Fop hospitals and medicines, $157,000,000 is appropri ated. Vor gathering information, the general staff asks $2,000,000. Ammuni tion will cost $390,000,000 and machine guns, $237,000,000.
