The t ump Meeting, At Murvin, in the northern part of this comity, closed on Tuesday last. Since the first camps were erected and the arbor imilt and consecrated to God, more than forty years ago; we have no fears in assert ing that no meeting there, has ever been attended by an abler corps of ministers. The lleV. Mr. Anthony, of Americas, Itcv Mr. Histrnnk, of Fort Valley, Rev. Mr. Austin, of Tbomasvilie, the Presiding El der. Itev. Mr. McGehee, of Thomasville, j and the Rev. Mr, Dawsey, of Berien, w<*re ! the Visiting brethren. The other minis- ' ters were onr own, The Revs. Messrs. Talley, Lewis, the pastor at Quitman; Giles, Hinted, the Circuit rider; Mr. Red dick, locaL There were other ministers, some of whose names we never knew, and others we don't now remember. The audi ence was large, particularly on Saturday and Sunday the preaching was able and im pressive, and though, there was but little excitement, we think deep and lasting im pressions were made. The members of the church were revived, and with them the meeting may truthfully be said to be a good one. We have visited camp meet ings all of our life, but have never wit nesged such an wholesale imposition as was practiced upon some of the tent-hold ers. If their benovoleuce had not been boundless, and their patience inexhansta ble, they would have locked their tents and sought for refuge at their quiet homes. Hut to the last they fed the multitudes, and there appealed to be an nnwasting fullness of supplies. It is one of the most hospitable, whole sotiled Christian communities in the State of Georgia, notwithstanding their unprece dented liberality, they are independent and prosperous. They have fine lands, lovely climate, good water, splendid health and abundant crops. These are God’s blessings, and such communities, though seldom found, are always thus blessed.. — To every one of the tent holders we are indebted for their hospitality to ns, and we tender to them our hearty thanks. : goods just received, which were bought at panic prices, and will lie sold the sane- way Cat! eariv and secure the cheapest goods yet sold.
