Kicks, principal Dentist at | Quitman, Ga., still offers his professional S service to the citizens of Southern Geor-; gia and Florida. April 18. i O The Wnllmk#. This talented troupe enlivened our town : with tlieir excellent perf< rmnnces three | evenings this week, Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday and gave, great satisfaction , to delighted and crowded audiences. Fannie Wallack is one of those sweet and cultivated vocalists which one never tires of hearing. Independent of a beauti ful face and ladylike appearance, she pos sesses an immense amount of versatility as an actress, and has appeared in some thing like a score of totally opposite cliar | acters, with perfect make-up for each with a lively interspersion of pretty and new songs and ballads. Her operatic morceaux are given with great naivete and brilliant execution. It is in these scientific pieces |of vocal music that the true aitist shines | predominent. Wat ty Wallack has only to be seen to be - appreciated. His exquisite humor and ad ! mirable bearing at once characterizes him jas a*great favorite. His audience is kept j in a complete roar of laughter from the ; moment he appears until he leaves the ! stage, and his rapid changes of costume ' are made so quickly that the audience are in doubt whether it he one and the same ! person. | Mr. Rider is a .remarkable representative of old men natural to the life. His comic | songs are sung with great taste and ex ' pression, and the immense comicality of | the “Hungry Soldier ’ is the funniest, j drollest and mirth provoking piece of ee | centricity we have ever seen, and the character has been re-demanded nightly j most enthusiastically. We hope these performers will again i enliven our town with their elegant draw j ing-room variety entertainments. They j leave for 'i'hornasville, opening on Friday. |We feel confident of their meeting with I success, and we only feebly echo the line I in their programme when we say that this j troupe, only three in number, possess the | talent and give as big a show for variety ! and amusement ns though, they were a j score of pci-formers. All should visit their | enlightening, instructive, moral and high j !y entertaining exhibitions. Nanmnnhi Wo returned Friday morning from Si - vannah wliere wo had spent the preced ing days of tlio week. Our time was spent principally with the business men, aud from them gathered facts, that we confess 1 were both new and strange to us. Wo dis covered some jealousies and coquetry with j business men, that ought to livo above such coutemptiblilties. We cannot write of all we saw and heard; the forms ore be ing made-up and we must go to press. But in our next wo will spunk of Savannah las we have studied and learned it within the last few days; speaking of the place and of persons and things in plain lan guage, free from duplicity, meaning just what wo say, based upon facts that we gathered. We don't propose to do like some of our pretended friends, who say one thing and does another. We have a very high respect for truth and men who practice it, and a most contemptible opinion of a man who willfully perverts it. There arc many merchants in Savannah who will never condescend to low trickery or coquetry in business, hut unfortunately for Savannah, there nresomo that will. We think, however, their financial condition is such that they have to wear a face to suit every man, to hide their weakness, of this class we propose to speak freely and give facts.
