The Locusts are calling loudly for

Not much rain during the last two

Corn planting is about uono for this

How warm the weather is: but don’t

Hoary Winter consumed all of Spring

Spring of her love-making days.
If you are troubl' d with constipated
bowels, just step round to Oakes &
Henderson’s and get a bottle of Allurn
and Iron Mass,
Theie is more than twice as much
cotton planted in White county this
season than at any time previous.
Farmers and Tbresbermen look out
for the ‘‘Starved Rooster Thresher" in
next week’s paper.
Do tell us what “2905" ia ?

The key to Health.
Have you found the key to porfect
health and strength t It is Kidney
Wort, the only remedy that overcomes
at once the inaction of the kidueys and
bowels. It purifies the blood by
cleansing the system of foul humors
and by giving strength to the liver,
kidneys and bowels to perform their
regular functions. See displayed ad-'
vertisement.

DIED.
Ou the morning of the Gtb instant,
at her residence, one mile South of
Cleveland, Mrs. FerabeeMcCravy, aged
90 years. She was born June 17th
1791: married, Feb. 6th 1812. at the
ago of 23 years. She joined the M. E.
Church when 17 years of age, on the
6th day of March, and jived a consis¬
tent member of the church up to the
moment of her death, 73 year*. She
moved from Jackson county to this
place in 1825, where she lived an exem¬
plary life the remainder of her days
upou earth. Her sickness was of many
days duration, and her suffering severe,
yet she bore it all with grrat patience
and ebristiau fortitude; feeliug as the
no doubt did, that, she was only passing
from death unto life, to meet the happy
tbroug around the Father's throne
Just before she expired she sang in au
audible voice the lollowiDg two verses:
IIow happy every ebihl of gr.-ce,
Who knows bis siD3 lergivrn!
This earth he ories, is tot tuy,,place,
I seek my place in Heaven:
A country far from mortal sight,
Yet 0, by faith I see;
The land of rest, the saints dott,—
The Heaven prepared lot me.
0 what a blessed hope is ours!
While here ou earth we stay-,
We more than taste the beaveuly powers
And auto-ditto that day
Wo feel the rissurreclieii uear,
Ouc life in Christ eonceal’d
And with hi3 glorious presence here
Our eathen vessel’s fill'd.
Educated Women.
Refined and educated women will some¬
times suffer iu silence for yoars from
kidney diseases, or constipation nud
piles which could easily be cured by a
package of Kidney Wort. There is
hardly a woman to be found that does
not at some time suffer from some of
the diseases for which this great retq« ly
is a specific. It is put up in liquid and
dry forms e.qual!y efficient .—Spring

A Remarkable Memory.
A lawyer enjoys badgering a witness,
but it is not so agreeable whon the wit¬
ness, gives bis answers in kind. Hunt¬
ing bears is sport, but when the bear
hunts the hunter, it looks like carrying
the joke too tar.
An old witness was asked, in an in¬
sulting touo by an attorney, if bis mem¬
ory was good. ‘Yes,’ was tho reply;
•on some points it is extremely acurate,
but ou others I must confess tnat it is
defective.’ ‘Won’t you give the Court
an illustration?’ said the lawyer. ‘Well,’
drawled the aged witness, T clearly re
ruomber that ten years ago you came to
me and borrowed $100, but for the life
of me, 1 can’t remember that you ever
paid me.’
Wliat He limited For.
‘ Tho young man had scarcely climbed
over the feuce and started across the
field when be met a broad-shouldered
farmer with a cloud upon bis brow.
“What do you hunt for around hero
mostlyf’ timidly asked the youthful
Nimrod. “Trespasser*!” roared the
farmer, “Trespassers!’’ And then
there was a crashing sound as though
someone bad suddenly dived through a
a pannel of a rail feuce and ten feet of
blackberry patch and then naught was
beard save the rapid pattering of eight
feet; and, when the free for at! siugle
dash went past the distance pole, the
entries were pretty well strung out and
all beaded for Burlington, the young
man and his girl first, the faithful hound
second, but making a desperate, al¬
though iu effectual apart for the lead,
and the dark-browed farmer a bad third
with no show even for his distance.
Such ie the life of the bold hunter in the
far west,— Hawk Eye.
