Was Ha Murdered and Robbao?
A brief uotice appeared In the Telegraph
last week of what was supposed at tbe time to
have ceen au accident, that befell Mr. K. W.
Jackson, of Byron, while on a visit to the city.
WhUa walking on Fourth street It was said
that be stumbled and fell down the steps lead
ing into tbe basement of tbe National Hotel.
It waa at night when tbe accident occurred,
and on the sidewalk In front of the hotel.
Mr. Jacksou was picked up in an uocon-

moned. The next day or the day following
he was removed to his home In Byron, where
he hat been confined to his bed ever alnce.
Yesterday Mr. Tom Warren, of Byron, was
la tbe city and brought news of Mr. Jackson s
critical coud'tion. He Is not expected to live,
his skull having been broken by the fall be re
ceived aud his brain iujuied.
Tbe following facts were learned concerning
the last visit ot Mr. Jackaon to the city.
He had been accustomed to come to Macon
at this time every year, aud last week he left
home to make the usual trip. His business
waa to negotiate a loan of 92.000, which he
succeeded in doing, It appears that he over
stayed his time, a <d his people at home fear
ing that something evil had befallen him, his
sou, Mr. Charlie Jac son. was sent to the city
to look him up.. He found him and obtalued
from him 91.500 of the $2,000 he had on his per
son, and returned home with it, leaving bis
father In the city. On the night of the allcg-
in his pocket the f.K.0 tnat naa oien rets men.
When ne was pickel up afterwards only twen
ty-flvo cents was found on his person.
Tho question suggests Itself, and would
seem to indicate tost an investigation at
lent of tie affair won Id not prove out of place.
It might serve to clear up what at present Is
a horrible suspicion.
Ills remains were taken .Sunday afternoon
