It was evident to Mr. Bonner, after a half-

have polled all kinds of vehicles for the som-

from the plow and then chased Mr. Bonner all
over the field. To save himself Mr. Bonner

Katbarina Bnhler. A tent carpet of
Cbarlea the Bold was restored some five
veers ago. They were supposed to b« made
at Arras and Bruges. They are in wool,
interwoven with gold and sliver thread,
and were made piecewise and then joined
together.
A farmer near Washington, Pa.,
having occasion to take bis horse from the

The Lew clock dials on the tower of
the general posl-offlce at Melooarne, Aus
tralia, will be made of cast iron having
hemispherical recesses eo placed as to roarx
the hours, instead of the naual numerals.
These enpa will be nickel plated inside so
as to reflect the sunlight, forming bright
points dnrieg the daytime. After dark
each will be illuminated with an Incan
descent lamp, and tn each of ihe bands
will be placed a close row of smaller lamps
By this arrangement it is believed that it
will bs possible to read the time at a great
distance.
