His wife, who is a lady of superior
intelligence, pitying his forlorn condi
tion, did her best to argue him out of
bis cranky notion. But all to no pur

cation Is made here to-day of a startling
disclosure tn society at Celine. Mercer
county, Ohio, where three or four youths,
scarcely of age, sons of leading and wealthy
cUisens, are under bond for tmrglarfrs
committed in that town. One ot these Is
Clayton Marsh, a son of Hon. T. D. Marsh,
speaker of the Ohio House of Representa
tives, and another is the stn of Connty
Clerk Landfatr and n student at the Ken
tucky Military Institute. 8everal others
are suspected but not yet arrested. The
matter became public through, a
nephew of the aher-fl who
bad been intrusted with the sale
of stolen Jewelry. Young Marsh, it is said,
has made a confession. A barkeeper
named Joseph Bobieliug baa also been ar
rested In connection with the affair and la
under bond. The whole town la wild witn
excitement and cltizans fear no id- quite
prosecution can os had. owing to the influ

bodies of their dead fellow countrymen for
shipment to China, wt ich has been carried

heart of tbe city while at the same time
tbe drainage and sewers of the city

all the boxes containing the remain* ot

morgue, the coroner was Interviewed in re
gard to the mat er. He s'ated that when
ne arrived at tbe cellar in wotcb the box-s
were stored'and in which the putrefied re
mains which had stll to be boiled were
lying, he set to work to bre*k open the
boxes. There were tome sixty bodies tn
all. Each box coDtalDel a tin care, in
which, careinlly wrapped in oil c'oihe,
w re a nnmber of human bodies. Boialler
boxes and long strips of skin were wrap
ped op fn separate parcel* and placed
within the larger ones. On Ihe nuialde
of each box was a label bearing Coined
characters giving the name of the dead
persons wllbin, so that the remains coaid
be Identified by relatives In China. After
having opened several boxes the coroner
'concluded to seiz* ihe whole lot and re

the cares were being placed in the wagons,

sembied, upon learning the cause ol the

A Serious Railroad Aaold.nt',
Charlotte, Bepumber 10.—A south
boand freight train on tbe Richmond and
Danvll'o railroad to-dsy went through a
bridge over Coddle creek, fifteen miles
from Charlotte. Twenty-three box cars,

totally wrecked, and two unknown men
supposed to have been tramps, were killed.
