The trouble arose in tbc beating of an inoffensive negro by some of the crowd.— Police officer Drew, and special officer Mar vin, attempted to,scatter the crowd, whfln they were murderously assaulted by two brothers, nntrie.t Welch, one of whom was shot in the breast by the officer, probably totally.
