give it renewed life, activity and industry.
I havo heard farmers say, within tho last
few days, that they had become so dis
heartened that they did not care to gather
the remrining unpicked cotton in the fields.
When such feelings come over tho farmers,
who are the very levers of trade and the
life blood of the State, it strike! ns that all
classes must necessarily and materially suf
fer. When the plough ie stopped, the loom
and anvil are also put to silence, and with it
