Mr. T. F. Brannon, of 2s
wood, had a very narrow
cape a few days ago fiom a
falling falling tree. He saw the tree
ahead only a short distance
of him and reined his
horse in, when the tree fell
only a few feet ahead of him.
Mr. Walter Lee, who
been spending the last three
months in Kansas City, Mo.,
arrived home last Saturday,
and we are glad to welcome
him back among ns. Bud
says he has traveled through
fifteen states of the Union
and Georgia is decidedly the
best he has found yet.

Mr. George R. Blackburn
came very near having his
entire place destroyed by lire
or last Friday. A hoy he

cause. When Mia Blackburn
discovered the fire he could
scarcely see the buildings for
the smoke, but by very hard
work he extinguished it.
Mrs. Jane Brinson, wife of
Mr. John Brinson, died at

eral years, that dread disease
consumption having obtained
a hold on her system and at
last bringing her to the grave.
She was the daughter of Mr.
W. B. Lester, deceased, and
leaves several sisters and one

munity are with the bereaved
family.

The Superior Court meets
next Monday, April 22nd.
There are about forty civil and
twenty criminal cases to de
mand the attention of the
court. If all or a larger part
of them arc tried, it will COll
