COURT-HOUSE.
We publish, below a list of
subscribers to the building of a pew
court-house. ‘ *
The town property ownert) pays
one-third and that leaves two
thirds of the costTer the county to
pay. With this help from tho
town, and the fact that our Ordi¬
nary pays the county’s prorata with
part of last years taxes, part this
year, and part next, makes it light
on the peoplo. It will bo no bur¬
den on .'any .body. Everybody ad
imit-s the necessity for a new court¬
house, and everybody knows it is
needed,.and should be built. The
objection if any to it can be found¬
ed on no consistent reason.
Some people of course will kick
—some people would do that, if it
did not cost them a cent—just be¬
cause they love to kick, and talk
about economy, when they don’t
practice it.
The court-house will lx; built at
once, and everybody will be glad of
it.
