were Sunday guests of Mrs.

attended Quarterly conference
in Kingsiand last Wednesday.
Owing to the inclement
weather Sunday evening, Dr.
Charles H. Lee did not come
over to hold services.
The young people of St.
Marys will give a dance at the
P.iverview hotel Friday night,
in honor of Armistice Day. The
Jacksonville Night Hawks will
furnish the music at this time.
On Friday afternoon the St.
Marys school faculty attended
the regular meeting of teachers
from Camden county consolidat
ed schools, at Kingsiand. The
next meeting will be in St.
Marys at the auditorium.
Warren Bailey has returned
to his school work again in
Miami, Fla.
Miss Ethel Brandon has re
turned home after an absence
of several weeks in Charlotte,
N. C.
Airs. G. H. Long, of Durham,
N. C., is visiting her sisters,
Mrs. J R. Bachlott and the
Misses Brandon.
During the storm of last Tues
day night, two fliers from Lake
land, Fla., were compelled to
make a forced landing at the
aviation field near here. They
were on their way from Long
Island to Lakeland, when they
ran into this heavy storm. They
left the next morning.
Mr. and Mrs. Charles S.
Arnow, former residents of this
place are visiting their daughter
Mrs. J. A. Sheffield, in West
Palm Beach, Fla.
Rev. Dr. Huck, with Mr. Jack
sen, Sr., and Jr., have returned
to Atlanta, after spending some
time here as guests of Mrs. J.
B. Rudulph.
Mrs. James DeLoach returned
Monday from a visit to Bruns
wick. She will remain here
about a week longer and then go
to her home in Charlotte, N. C.

Loads Car For Orphans
The churches of the Peidmont
Baptist Association will load a
car of groceries, provisions and
feed stuff for the Georgia
Baptist Orphan’s Home of
Ilapeville, Ga. The loading points

Kingsiand Host To
County Teachers In
Monthly Meeting Fri.
Kingsiand was host to the

meeting was called to order by

meeting were read by Miss Sue
Wad/ey of the.St. Marys School,

followed a well selected program
under the direction of Miss Lang

vocal numbers were rendered by
a trio consisting of Misses
Minnie Gross, Carolyn Casey and
It ho da Peeples which was well
received by the audience. Littie
Mi.-s Elizabeth Hill gave a
jTeasant little reading. Rev,
Hav risen, pastor of the First
Baptist Church, was the
the devotional and gave both

message. Miss Goodson then in
troduced Rev. Wail, who gave a
very timely and highly
ciated message on “Sensitivity.”
By a popular vote of ail the j
teachers present, it was decided
that the Christmas
would begin on Wednesday,
December 21st, and continue'
until Thursday, January 5th.
The various groups then
adjourned to appointed rooms

Each church is requested to
send cars or a truck and receive
donations of anything, that
people can use or wear.
A ear load of corn would
be a most valuable gift. These
truck load of provisions are to
be taken to the loading point
and left in charge of the freight
agent or loaded in the car on
the day set. The Association
sent 28,000 pounds last year.
A larger car is expected this
year. The general committee is

Hunting Season
Opens November 15
Atlanta, Ga., Nov. 10—Next
Tuesday, November 15th, is a
red letter day for Georgia nim
rods, because it marks the open
ing of the big hunting season.
The hunter can go into the fields
and woods on that day with a
feeling of safety that he can
shoot most any species of game
without violating the law, pro
vided he has the necessary
license.
