The people of Houston aud adjoining co un ties may now begin to prepare, plant, make and fix for the fair of 1879. Fortunately he awoke before the burial took place. or nearly so, in the belief that Con gress should enact a comprehensive and stnngeut national quarantine. The commercial interest iu New Orleans did not seem to be very enthusiastic for a national quarantine, but the Mississip pi people were very earnest in favoring it. The Mississippi people iuformed the committee that in the absence of a national quarantine in case of another yellow fever visitation in New Orleans, they would estanlisli a regnlar shotgun quarantine of their own against that city, burn down the railroad bridges, ete. The sanitary condition of New Orleans is said to be frightful, and the experts have knowledge that there are still isolated cases of the fever in that city. THE BEST COTTON MARKET IS HA WKINS YILLE.
